    Hi Harvey

I had Trailwings on my 1150GS when new and hated them, could'nt wait to change them to Tourances, but when I did like Kiwi Adventure the wrong size front was fitted and it was un-nerving to say the least, would drop into corners in a very disturbing way.

When the right size was put on, good as gold.

As Artig says, some of the GS web sites say there seems to have been a bad batch of front Tourances at some stage in the past, especially in the UK.

Usually get about 10.000km from them.

Also tried Enduro 3 but a bit iffy in the wet.

I would also like to try the Bridgestone BT-020 road tyres at some stage, but I would imagine that on your RTW trip you would want more dual purpose jobs.

Hope to catch up with you before you go.
By the way the Paeroa Battle of the streets races are on this Sunday 19th Feb and if you are in the area they are not to be missed.

    Cheers

    Jim

Great ride report Tony, sounds like you had a ball up north.
Sorry to read about your "off" on the trail ride and hope all goes well with the healing process.

    Regards

Great write up Brucie and it was a pleasure to have you with us and hope to see you again.
Most of us on that ride with you do ride together every week and it is a pleasure to ride with people of a like mind and who are great company and will look after each other and we are lucky inasmuch as we always have someone who will step up to lead the ride or be tail end charlie.
In saying that of course we do tend to get Arne to do it as he knows every road around and does a lot of pre planning and riding the route before leading a ride.
There has been many a time when I have been a member of that tribe you mentioned and then suddenly we will arrive at the destination spot on time.
See you on another ride soon.

    Cheers

Could’nt agree more with you Aslan, we must make more use of this site !!

Before this site was up and running we used to communicate via emails to BMWOR and in fact I just received one this morning which I think is the first this year, so it is still up and running.

This was the same though, no messages for weeks and then a flurry of them, and then none for weeks again.

I believe that some people find it is easier for emails just to arrive in their inbox than to visit a website.

I am one of those who visit both those sites you mention and find they are a wealth of information and interest.

Another very good one is http://www.BMWsporttouring.com and no matter what you want to know just ask on one of these sites and someone will know the answer or have done it before.

Cheers mate, glad someone visits and replies to messages on here, we must now try and encourage others to do the same.

    Regards

    Jim

    Thats a good one,

I wonder how long it will take before some furniture manufacturer swoops in to get all the old Kauri and Rimu ?
