Yes she is obviously very happy with your riding Des.Dave, Tony and myself basically retraced our route from the morning but added in Findlay road which we missed out on in the morning.Stopped for the obligatory icecream at Kawakawa Bay and chatted to a few bikers. All in all a great days riding.

Doesn't fitting a helicoil involve drilling and tapping a larger hole for the helicoil to screw into ?Of course this would only be possible if you have enough metal on the casting to do it.Best of luck fixing it, I know how you must feel when things like that happen, that sick feeling in the pit of the stomach, usually accompanied by some choice words.  😮

Hi Alex,The last time we went to Pauanui, we had lunch at the American Cafe if my memory serves me well.Very biker friendly (mind you they didnt have much choice as we totally arranged all the tables so we could all sit together) but they didnt mind.Paunui doesnt take very long to get there so if you like I can suggest some good routes along the back roads to fill in some time.

I would tend to agree with you, gravel does nothing to me, trail rides yes but gravel no. but each to their own.
