in reply to: Pre-pay at fuel pumps #9361Had the same the other day at my local Caltex station for which I have a Caltex starcard and have been going there for the last 20 years or more, two or three times a week spending around $800 per month. When I finally got through to our turbaned friend to switch on the pump he claimed he didnt recognise me even though we have had lots of conversations in the past, usually about the car wash not working properly and me wanting my money back.So he was told in no certain terms where he could put his pump if it happens again !!!! 😡Must be an age thing turning into a grumpy old B@#$%#$^%^d 👿
Good on ya Hentie, enjoy your ride
Hi Hentie,I'm not wishing to put you off the ride but knowing you are not long in the country, do you realise that the Woodville meeting place for this ride is down past Palmerston North (I think) which is about a 5 to 6 hour ride from Auckland ?
in reply to: Metzeler Elephant Run #9312Yep done it before Dave and I think it was the first one to be run.Finished at the Rangiriri pub and there was some great prizes to be won, the problem was however that the prize giving took that long that some of the idiots who had left their villages consumed too much of the pubs fine ales and started doing burn outs and wheelies along the pub road cheered on by a bored crowd and onto HW 1 which is only about 50 meters away causing lots of traffic hassles which didnt give motorcyclists a good name.We left just before the police arrived !!!Apart from that it was a good run and I shall be there again this year no doubt.I dont know if this year it is being run a bit earlier but the one I was on it was b*#+!dy freezing
Am I missing something or my eyesight must be getting real bad cos they both look the same to me only that the second one works !!!!!!!!!
in reply to: F800GS test #9295in reply to: F650 Supermotard at Paeroa #9288Never got a chance to ask that question Alex, but they were just aluminium plates on one side only and fastened on with cable ties.

in reply to: FIT ADDITIONAL HEADLIGHTS AND BE SEEN? #9080They are available at most bike shops for around $60 to $70 and if my memory serves me well are easy to fit to bikes that are pre canbus wiring and come with full installation instructions on the pack, just a tap into the indicator wiring. One unit will only operate the front indicators so if you want the front and back indicators to light up as I have seen on some bikes you will need two units, but to my mind this is a bit of overkill as you really need to be seen more from the front. I would have put one on the 1200 but didn't want to chance it with the canbus system.
in reply to: Resene Paints Discount #6293Yep, Ive used it, but it took them a while to find the account otherwise no problems but note it only goes up to 4litres so you will have to use your negoiating skills to get the discount on bigger sizes.
