I think the reason for no helmet is the double shoulder and lap seat belt as well as the “protection cage” and side bars.I think all convertible owners should be forced to wear helmets as well in that case !!! eh Dean.

in reply to: ** Hamilton Motorcycles ** #12581Have to agree with you about “Cath” Steve, I was in there a couple of weeks ago and just enquired if they had any Schuberth C3 helmets in stock. They didn't, but Cath phoned the distributor and arranged for me where I could see one, even though I said I was from Auckland and just wanted to look at them it was not any bother to her.Real customer service I reckon, big thumbs up from me. 😀

in reply to: Red Bull City Scramble #12362Yes it was a good show Alex, it's a pity there was no pics of the rock garden and some of the more difficult sections.I bet there was some very sore bodies today and full marks to the girl that was riding, we saw her in one race and she was so utterly exhausted at the end and could hardly get back on the bike to finish.Steven took some videos on his phone so he may post them here.
in reply to: Heat-pumps ? #12322We had one installed two years ago and it is one of the best things we have ever bought for the house.Like Arne says get a proper inspection and quote for your house, when we got ours measured we were getting towards the top of the capacity scale for one unit so went a size bigger to save it working it's little butt off and the cost increase for the bigger size was minimal.
I got some of those moulded ear plugs made at one of the race meetings and to be quite honest I was not very happy with them. One of them split after a couple of times wearing them and while the people who made them were very good and glued it up they soon split again. They did offer to replace the offending one but I found they were difficult to get in place correctly and so gave them up.I normally use Alpine plugs but recently have started using normal foam plugs which I find are very comfotable and you can get them in different grade of protection. So I suppose its up to you which suits you best, just as long as you do wear some form of protection, just like some of the other pastimes we tend to indulge in !!! 🙄
