Microwaving the mail on Alley Rd.
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6850On Te Puke Quarry Rd. The pole on the right is actually a letterbox.
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6849A good advertisement for a contracting company. On Wilson Road North.

in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5246It's weatherboard, it's a building, it looks abandoned. On the Rotoiti Lake edge at Okere Falls.
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5245This one on Hamurana Rd may not actually be abandoned. But it is certainly in need of some tender loving care if not.
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6846Not really an interesting letterbox, but perhaps a practical use for an old Honda. Near the western end of 309 Rd.
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5244This one is next door to the previous one. Not really weatherboard, and may not be abandoned. A whole family of pigs came out onto the road from the vicinity of the house.

in reply to: Returning after 20yr lay-off…. #9333If it's of any interest, I have a Haynes manual covering R850 and R1100 twins from 1993 onwards, that I would be willing to part with. Much more useful than the User's Manual if you want to do any of the servicing yourself, such as valve adjustment and throttle body synchronization.
in reply to: Metzeler Elephant Run #9314I seem to recall they did it again last year or two years ago, with the destination being Taupo. I haven't checked where the destination is this time around, as I will not be able to go on the ride.
Am I missing something or my eyesight must be getting real bad cos they both look the same to me only that the second one works !!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Alex.I found it hard to believe he rode across, but he insisted that he did. His description of the bridge was accurate, and he wouldn't have had time to return to Waitomo and come up the main road. Those back roads do not have a high priority when it comes to major repairs. Perhaps if it was the only means of access for someone they would make a temporary fix. That bridge is not expected to be operational again until some time in June.
