I have heard that they wont be running it in the next round of the winter series, this weekend, because some of the race bits have still not arrived. However, in place Sloan will be riding a HP2 Sport to give New Zealanders a chance to see what it is like on the track. I would love to be able to get to that. Hope someone gets some nice pictures.

Was anyone else chuffed at Troy Corser's podium finish in the second World Superbike race at Monza earlier this month?Ruben Xaus also scored a personal best ever race result, finishing sixth in the first race. In total, Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport scored 26 points in the manufacturers’ standings. Not a bad effort consdiering some weren't giving the team much chance of getting that many points for the whole season.

I was also impressed with the youngsters in Superstock 1000 where the BMW are leading the maunfacturers championship by a long way and at Monza they had four BMs in the top six

I believe EBC and Premier are the same or linked companies. They make good stuff and I do like Kevlar pads. I've had no problems with them from a stopping or fade point of view both on cars and bikes. However, I have found they don't last all that long on bikes and they seem to generate a lot more brake dust. If you like clean wheels I would advise you to stay with the OEMs.

I just put a strap between header cross pipe and the centre stand to prevent the bike from coming off the stand if knocked forward and then support the swing arm with a jack (you could put another strap between it and the frame if you were worried that the lack might be knocked out of place.) PS I also put blocks of wood under the centre stand legs to give me a bit of extra height to take the wheel out etc. so the chance of the bike tipping forward is greater but with the strap it's fine.

Jay Lawrence took the S1000RR out again for an equally impressive demo on Ruapuna today. This has been a great launch for it – the pit wall filled up at the lunch break with many leaving working on their bikes to see it perform. (The quality of today's pics don't do it justice – If anyone has better ones, please let me have them)4277743595_03b4f1aea2_o.jpg4277743541_23dea2b7b6_o.jpg4278490432_29b5bbdab0_o.jpg4278490656_cfc5705d82_o.jpg

I guess their first dedicated sportsbike/superbike was the R90S, so for their second why not just reverse it S1000RR? At least that is what I would like to believe

Yours would be the equivalent of the Ohlins BM542 then. Mine is the BM942, must say I didn't get a price on the 542 so don't know exactly how it compares (The Elka and the BM542 RRPs on USA sites aren't all that different).

Yep. That is what I fitted (on a R1150GS). He also has to advertise RRP but speaking to him introduces some flexibility, and I must say I have found them one of the nicer firms to do business with. (If only he was a BMW dealer)PS I tend to use the rebound damping adjustments a lot depending on road conditions, the pre-load only for sag height when luggage or pillion changes. The compression adjustment screw is only really accessible (front and back) with the shock removed but that is more of a one off adjustment depending on the type of use road, track days, jeep tracks etc.

I would suggest to anyone before going down this route to have a word with Robert Taylor at Crown Kiwi. You could well find you could have a set of Ohlins, probably rated the best available, with local service and set up back up (also probably rated the best available in NZ) for very similar money. After I fitted my Ohlins I must say I would never be looking for an alternative to them.

    they are dreaming then

Hope not. It would be nice if that is what they are currently worth.
