in reply to: A significant kmstone #19096
HI richard yep they do last longer when taking it easier and also short trips, perhaps I need to slow down a bit or u speed up .When I ride my bike I never think of how I can get more kms out of the tyre or fuel etc, apart from more time to ride .
in reply to: A significant kmstone #19094Gee Richard u must be riding ya bike on a treadmill with a screen in front of u to get mileage like that .
in reply to: Skilled BMW Techs in NZ #19070Hi GremlinFrom what I've read on the net some parts on our bikes are better off being replaced rather than repaired, one of them is the final drive. We seem to think our BMWs are made better than other brands but there not really. BMWs seem to have lots of parts that have been badly designed and end up giving us problems like the ABS units.I bought a used K1200s that had a ABS replaced under warranty and then packed up in 18mths later with only 15,000kms on the new ABS, as BMW had warrantied the 1st unit and the bike was bought privately they would not look at warranty on the 2nd unit.I have owned BMS since 1986 and have not really gone off BMWs but the newer bikes surely scare me that something will soon go wrong and cost me heaps.

in reply to: Best Tyres for R1200GS #18577HI Richardtry the new tk70 looks good .I wouldn't complain about 19,000kms on a tyre , u must be riding it at less than legal speed no fun in that.

in reply to: Tour Guide #18280Hi BrucieThanks for your reply seems ashame to see all the hard work u do on the magazine get to us unreadable.I would of thought with the savings on the Christmas sausages to members we could now afford to spend a little on something worthwhile. How about bringing this up with the other members of your team.If it did go into a plastic bag unfolded it would be less work for your unpaid team.
