Try a Shark evoline… open face for low speed town and dirt … lovely in summer … full face at hiway speed or when the weather turns bad… great
Glad you boys had a great weekend… i didnt even end up with cary and co at fletchers… work has gone crazy.. so for a while i need to focus on that … its the weekly wage bill in 5 figures that keeps one alert … nxt time
gentlemen … off to the bay this weekend …600k on saturday .. :-o…. not sure how much is gravel ..demanding day … we will see…(what maniac wrote that script???)…. might be up for the 42 later in the month … knobbies required really , so dependent on workload and a few minor considerations like surviving the meltdown.. i will be there!!! .ps… it would be grt to have gerard along (proven skills in the tough stuff dept) and to catch up with you steven… later ….. neil
in reply to: 42nd Traverse #11085nice one boys… and all done without a “site specific safety plan”… thats what i call living!!!
in reply to: Which GPS? #10996I mainly use mine to — load up complex routes on the pc beforehand… or just get lost on the back roads and poke in the nearest town of size … pub and restaurants … at about 4 oclock… and let the gps land me there … no flapping paper …
in reply to: Which GPS? #10990i like the zumo… its kind of idiot proof … not too techy… has indiscretions… but mapping nz accurately and keeping it up to date for a small user base must be a commercial disaster really… open source has its advocates… but you need a manual.. take your choice
in reply to: 42nd Traverse, interested? (Oct.4 & 5) #10866ok … will keep in mind… the 1200 loves this stuff… and i love it too … with a liitle help thru the tough bits .. will follow the thread
in reply to: Enforcement wish list #10527we have a situation in licensing and enforcement where empire building by bureaucrats to massage politico egos has compromised any chance of a safer road environment…its not about a better new zealand … its about hanging on to the gravy train
in reply to: Enforcement wish list #10512How about this… no demerits … no fines … just compulsory training from a registered person following an offence… competency based test following the training and license returned … result … a hell of alot better drivers and safer roads … only downside … total cut off of revenue stream to wellington (boohoo)
in reply to: A trip to America #10168oh yes!!!!.. i went to vegas a couple of years ago and then ten days in an XJ8 through southern utah, colorado, new mexico and nevada.. i didnt really know what to expect… but i was gobsmacked for the whole trip … bored all my friends for weeks when i got home … just do it!!
in reply to: Tyre pressures #10033All my tyres have 78.084 % nitrogen in them 😀
in reply to: Radar detectors #10110at least we dont have to play make believe… money well spent!
in reply to: Radar detectors #10108Having had a day to think about my ticket… im sort of thinking I will just continue to carefully break the law… after all 1 ticket in 70000k (maybe a third of it in that zone where you hope no one is watching) makes any kind of radar detector look like an expensive option.. most of my riding is on roads that dont see a blue and yella from one decade to the next… so .. on with life
in reply to: Training for the Hub #9856damn and all … sounds like you had a ball … and just think that could of been me pushing an uncooperative lump of german finery halfway across the north island… sure sorry to have missed that 😀
