If all goes well you might not have to wait to much longer Alex.http://www.flickr.com/photos/28806692@N02/20620090840/in/dateposted-public/boGSer
in reply to: Altering valve timing R1100-R1200 #18555Just to be pedantic, these sprockets actually retard the cam timing to achieve their mid range performance gains. The gain is very "real world" and just where it's needed, where most of us ride, mid range!
ARE YOU SURE :- :- :-boGSer

in reply to: Hall effect sensor #17756Hi guys.Has anyone got any experience with these hall effect sensors http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=ZD1900I am curious to know if they last in the ignition of our bikes in particular the R1150GS. They look like a far cheaper alternative to buying a new unit from BMW.Adrian
Yep they work just fine had some in my ruffy for a few years now. They where a problem with the wiring on the 1100 but not such a common problem on the 1150 has your bike stopped. They are easy to check in place. Remove the front cover drive belt and bottom pulley with the ignition on pass a feeler guage through the sensor the injectors should click and the plugs should spark. Note both sensors must be working even though you will get a spark on both the plug leads from only activating one sensor because of the double output coil.http://advwisdom.hogranch.com/Wisdom/oilhead_hall_sensors.pdfboGSer
in reply to: R1100RT Hall sensor #17410It will be OK as long as you replaced the wires up to the plug with heat resistant wire. The 1100 had bad wires to the hall sensors and the insulation cracked along its length about every 5mm in the section closest to the engine, any water gets in there and you are back to square oneGood luckboGSer

in reply to: Quality insurance experience, have you had one? #17155Hello Aslan, what are you going to buy now? Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I am 3-1/2 months down now and itching to get back on the bike. I was thinking of getting the Kawasaki out of the shed but I promised her indoors I would stay off the bike for 6 months. They even gave me the Opps award for it. Really annoyed they didn't operate on mine but the orthopedic surgeon said he didn't repair broken collar bones and that was that. Last xrays showed it was starting to heel, still hurts in different positions. The ribs have been as bad as anything. Like the snap shot. Catch you out there again soon.boGSer
