in reply to: Dodgy membership applications. #15075“I'm off to keep the skies clear above us……”Horray! A weather forcaster. No more wet rides!
in reply to: TE KAHA (East Cape) BACKPACKERS #15148Just 'around the corner' from Te Kaha (when I was capturing road information,) I stayed at the Hicks Bay Motel. It was featured on a TV reality series not so long ago. I enjoyed the stay there, and that was before the show. So it should only get better. It's on the main road and there are lots of rooms. I'd stay there again.
in reply to: TOLAGA INN, TOLAGA BAY #15149Good one Bryan. Here's details for the future - I'll need it:http://www.tolagabaymotel.co.nz/When I did that trip, stayed at Te Puia Springs Hotel. Bikes around the back out of sight.
in reply to: Who ate all the pies?! #15019Sheffield in Canterbury. You can't miss it; they boast on the shop signage! Plan your route this way when you go to the Annual Rally next year.
in reply to: Opinions Sought – 1150GS or 1150RT #14967Mmmm, lot of bais comments here.I would imagine the RT would have a wider appeal to the general riding fraternity when it comes to selling.
in reply to: Unregistered cars to attract demerit points #15003That's good news. Watching those local police TV shows reveals a LOT of cars unregistered, driven by people who haven't got money to pay a fine anyway.
in reply to: Roading Muppets #14996Malc, Was that the Churchill/Potts concert? The RAG was great. Got a small item for the Newsletter. Numbers were down - like the Annual Rally. But you know, for the people there they enjoyed it. Some of the team from Napier/Hastings, came over the Gentle Annie route. Weather was beautiful and for the riding to/from Wellington ditto.
in reply to: What’s yours called #14697I'm with you Malc,I've got "the Cruiser", "the Zed", and the "Msports." If I called it with a name there' be trouble in 'ouse: As the French have Masc and Fem form for nouns, These are fem!
in reply to: Roading Muppets #14994Just came back from RAG Rally at Pokaka and returning to Wellington, took the back road from Mangaweka through to Fielding. Some of the road was resealed between Mangaweka and Rangiwahia and was just as you say. Some shingle on the road; just enough to put a M/bike into a slide. Hard to see the gravel too. And I saw some of the potholes too. Somewhere else I can't recall.
