I like his style too. When I was Streetcamming with Terralink, I managed this. Inspired by a famous Grahame Sydney work. I understand the building has been moved since he painted it.
in reply to: Daffy Reincarnated #13464Some guys get all the luck! Good on you.
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6888Grahame Sydney?
in reply to: BMW mechanics in Wellington? #13449Could depend where you live/work. Some use Richard's in Johnsonville. Top end at the roundabouts. I use TSS Red Baron for non BMW-tech repairs, like WOF etc. I find them receptive and don't slam you for new parts for the WOF. They sell Beemers in the forecourt too. They are convenient for me.
in reply to: Thais That Bind #13443Love Thailand. Been to Bangkok 3 times in the course of my work – now history. The traffic light controlled intersections in Bangkok have an area for motorcyclist to move forward to. so in a silent way it must be OK to split lanes! This must be the web site;http://www.tours.avalon-world.biz/index.htmlLot of reading! Look for the 3 photos of Kiwis under rider profiles.

A positive being a Branch Rep too, I don't doubt!!
in reply to: Hello from Tokyo #12620Konichiwa, As I read, I am listening to “Seiko Town.”Welcome to the forum. Some BMW bikes are bought out of Japan. Mostly the dealers bring them in. In the Auto world, they are known as Jap Imports.
in reply to: Kiwis all over the world #9500And great shots of my town, Wellington on his web site too.
in reply to: Can someone help this gent, please? #13289Back in R80 days Holeshot had the BMW agency. I wonder if that expertise is still in the workshop?Wellington has Mike at Motorad, (he owns an R80) but Wellington is a bit far!
in reply to: Inter-Island ferry Crossing #13306I'd back Bwucies system. If you are adopting the 'tying down on a trailer' theory, make sure your tyres are on a dry surface. The tyre may slip under the bike. The dynamics of pitch and roll of the ship will change the pull and strain on the strops/ropes.I travelled on the ferry recently for the SI Rag Rally and there were new ropes (with floor hooks) and ratchet straps. (But like tramping, you should take your own tent incase there are no bunks left in a hut!)
in reply to: R850R seat mods #13194Yep. Mine's a “Rider” seat too. (Re; the second entry above.) My cost included a courier return and I waited exactly a week. I did mention I had no transport – could they work on it when they received it. Service and craftmanship was good.
in reply to: R850R seat mods #13192Check these folk out:http://www.trimit.co.nz/index.htmI had a R1200C seat redone and slightly modified and was very happy with the result. Cost $350 in 2003.
in reply to: Excellent site for ’70s Airheads #13102That's a handy wiring diagram too for the 1978 bikes.
