Interesting, didnt realise there was a max payload restriction as well, one benefit of being short though is I am also light, so wouldnt worry me  😀 I would be more concerned though with the cornering clearance of the lowered bike..

Yes I wish they had that before I bought my 800. I have the Extra Low seat (theres 3 heights available now) which is alot better than the low but wouldnt mind that extra inch the lower suspension offers. Its a pain being short  🙁

The F800GS is not really as tall as the numbers would indicate. It is taller with the low seat than the F650GS with the standard seat, but not by much. I'm short-legged and could just reach the ground with both feet on the F800GS with the low seat, but for a number of reasons decided on the F650GS instead. On the F650GS with the standard seat I can comfortably reach the ground with both feet, but not flat-footed. With the low seat I can just flat-foot on the 650. So far I haven't regretted choosing the 650.

Cheers !  I have the extra low seat on my ST which has helped alot, think the std seat on the 650 would be similar to the ST with std, too tall for us little legged blokes. Will be interested in seeing the 650/800 GS, its a pity us Wellingtonions dont have a dealer at the moment! Have to plan a trip to Auckland before long  😀

Mines not a new 800, have had it a year and 10K. Dont think the sprint site would show any different to that model, it will have issues by some owners. The comment was said tongue in cheek so I didnt have to constantly read what a lemon I had bought 🙂

Well my life is worth more than the $5-6000 that I will loose from trading in an otherwise good bike . I cant undersatnd those that have a fanatical fear of the ABS operation on their bikes they continue to ride them. Trade in and buy a non ABS model or a different bike.Off to look at the Sprint forums..  😐

hmmm, and there I was thinking I  was saved as I had left the f800 forum site because of the constant discussion around ABS only to find it here as well.I have an f800, I have ABS, I have had the ABS issue however I would also say it behaves  (in my instances) the way ABs is meant to. I left the 800 forum because the more I read about the issue  and the other constant issues plagueing the 800 the more paranoid I became of my bike failing at some stage. I have been lucky I suppose as I have had no issues with mine. After 3 days I learnt how to use the BMW indicators and it is now second nature.I dont have an issue with the mirrorsHave not had an EWS issueWas looking at a R1200R, but their forum site seems as affected as well with various niggles.May go buy a Sprint.. depending on what the forum looks like 😉

Yeah well as we poor Wellingtonions dont even have a dealer now I may need to go to expereince to get one next year!Europe and the states seem to have better range of coulours on the 1200R as well.If I could grow 5 inches taller I would choose the 1200S  🙂

Well I have been looking at a 1200R just lately but F800 has better fuel economy, not important you say, wait till it goes to $2.50 a Litre in a few weeks! Maybe next year I may get a boxer 🙂

I have hidden mine already since they talked about the posibility of making them illegal. Mine now resides inside my tank bag and still seems to work ok.That also made room for the Zumo to go on the bars 🙂

Love the ST  😀 Best thing about it is the economy especially with todays fuel prices.. 24.4 km average on a recent 1200km trip.Mind you been looking at the R1200R with some interest lately but maybe next year..Looking forward to meeting up on some of the rides, met a bunch a month or so back in Eketahuna and had a brief chat but thought it was worth waiting until the new finanicial year to join !

Gidday New member since this morning  😀I have a Bel and the GPS speed cameras loaded and still got done on a speed camera a couple of weeks ago  😥The detector works most of the time though, ride with a guy with a 1150R who has a valentine 1 and mines goes off at the same places and at the same time so think it is as good.
