I know the Birkenhead Bus company use an elderly sign writer who does everything by hand (i've seen him working as I've driven past). Might be worth a call if you can't find a specialist.
in reply to: Gear display not working #16886LINZ maps are the go here, Malcolm, and they are still hard to beat. As I've positted before, in emergencies it's a lot easier to use a mapsheet as kindling than a GPS, and you just plain CAN'T wipe your bum with a bit torn of the edge ofya satnav. ::)You're right Bruce silly me, just showing my age and make ;D
in reply to: Gear display not working #16884C'mon Dave, you'll be trading your Garmin in for a prismatic compass and an ordnance survey map next. 😉
in reply to: Interphone F3 Universal twin pack #16897Thanks Dave, is yours the F3 or the more expensive models F4 – F5. It seems you can get instructions from the GPS and receive phone calls? do your calls get routed through the GPS – what model GPS do you use.
in reply to: Interphone F3 Universal twin pack #16895Good point Grem, I've just had a look and it seems that it can handle up to five different phones. However that doesn't necessarily mean it will pick up an intercom! If it does I guess I will have to then select which device I want it to connect to when I'm on the bike eg the GPS. That of course eliminates the ability to route the phone through the GPS but I'm not really concerned about taking calls on the road.
in reply to: Interphone F3 Universal twin pack #16893Thanks for the reply Ingel, I've done a bit of searching on the net and found mostly good feedback so took a dive and ordered a set. My phone is connected to the GPS so I'm hoping if I pair the F3 to the GPS I'll get the phone as well. The bonus (i think) is we can communicate more safely.
in reply to: Gear display not working #16877Not sure about the missing gear indicator Gary but have you checked the side stand switch is not sticking causing you to have to de clutch to start.
in reply to: New F700GS and F800GS #16829Yeah it is pretty ho hum but then beggars can't be choosers eh. Anyway I'm colour blind as well as deaf so it hardly matters. 😮Just in passing how's the weather down there? pretty grotty up here, if the Pres and entourage have finished answering all those questions they'll be needing their waterwings I should think.
in reply to: New F700GS and F800GS #16827Well done Arne, my pick would be the red too. Not too keen on either of the options but for a real neat colour this one takes some beating 😉
in reply to: New F700GS and F800GS #16824Don't know what the options are Neil, but that red one looks the business but I guess you want a change.
in reply to: Tibbs and Thomson Road Trip #16842They'll be riding into doubtful weather, especially on Sunday, when they will be at Ironique in Te Aroha for lunch. The weather should not stop any members that wish to converse or consult with Peter and David turning up for lunch: they may get wet and cold, but you are welcome to turn up in a cage.
It's not the weather that's stopping me Bruce, I wonder how they plan to have any meaningful conversations or consultations with a group in a packed cafe on a Sunday morning. Perhaps they've booked a private room?
in reply to: TPS issues #16858This thread is the final nail in the coffin of my vague thoughts about "upgrading" from a carbed bike !
Go on live dangerously, you obviously have a computer so you're not still using a quill, ink and paper 😉
in reply to: Whangarei to Christchurch #16870Will you have an auto bid on the GS and RT Darryl ;D
in reply to: ONLY THE BRAVE #16852Thanks Dave, pleased to hear you had a good night. Fush and chups always sounds good to me so we'll bear them in mind for the future.
in reply to: ONLY THE BRAVE #16846Hi Dave and Barb, that sounds excellent, where's the Urban Turban? keep us posted it could be a venue for a group feed ;D
