For sure Alex, one of the greats, old Willy certainly designed a good one there. Are there any flying?
in reply to: de Havilland Mosquito #17021Thanks Scottie, some good footage. Brill day today for the show and if my hands were steadier and my old lens faster I'm sure I could have got more of the Mossie and less clear sky. :- Never mind it's etched in my mind and 'twas a great day out. What a good crowd, Bob Bonniface was the only face I knew but I'm pretty sure we saw Tony O blasting down the motorway on the red Honda so must assume the seals have been done already?Almost missed him again...
in reply to: de Havilland Mosquito #17019Good one Jim, as you say a pity you can't be there. We'll soak it all up for you. ;D Hope you're having a good time.
in reply to: RIDE TO THE AGM #16977On a slightly different tack, has anyone managed to get a few days off to do the Southern North Island tour after the party? be good if they get some decent weather.

in reply to: Wellington Accom for 2, 21 Sep – 1 Oct. #17006I know they're all good in their own way. When we're out touring (for instance Wanaka last Easter) we so often say “beautiful spot, could you live here”. In this instance the answer could easily be YES until one thinks seriously about ones life style and what one wants from a village, town or city. We've lived in Wellington and Napier where our kids were born and liked them both for different reasons but finding suitable work in Napier was difficult for me and (sorry guys) the climate in Welly didn't suit me. Didn't particularly want to come to Auckland as I hated London when I lived there but the work was here and we have grown to like the place warts and all. We still feel as though we're coming home when we ride out of the Esk Valley and down the coast watching the Napier Hill grow bigger and enjoy Wellington for it's vibrancy and difference but it's doubtful that we'll ever live there again as our children and grandchildren are in Auckland and we won't be leaving them any time soon. 🙂 We love the country we have chosen to live in and think we are so lucky to be here to share it with you all.

in reply to: Interphone F3 Universal twin pack #16899Update on the intercom purchased recently. Firstly it's the unit from Cellular Line and not the unit Dave talks about earlier. We used it at the weekend and found we were able to converse clearly at the legal limit and a little above. We both wear earplugs and I'm partially deaf so it's a good unit. You can hear a slight wind noise across the mic in some conditions which I guess is dependent on the angle of the wind across the helmet but not a nuisance and one can always switch off for a while if necessary. It is paired to my cell and I have to do some research to solve the problem of it making random calls by itself when I pressed the talk button a couple of times when uncertain if we were linked or not!!!!!!!!Unfortunately my Tomtom which is a car unit won't pair with the F3 which is a bummer because that was the main reason for buying. However Jean is well pleased with the ability to give orders verbally without resorting to screaming in my ear or punching me in the kidneys ;D and who knows I may get a bike specific GPS one of these fine days.So for $299 it's been a good buy and after years of riding "deaf" we can sing in unison as we cruise the highways and byeways. I do have to be careful not to burp loudly after lunch though :-
in reply to: South Head ride Sunday 19-08-12 #16927Yes Dave good to catch up. My camera/phone is not well but I did score a couple of pics off Terry (see other post). And if you look at the time these posts were written you will understand why there are two. 8) As for posting your pics take a look at the explanation written by Alex in the Help Files and you will find it easy I promise.M.
