in reply to: BRONZ Ride to work day #6388
Well yes Garry you'd think so.ย But I hope the traffic is not quite as bad in Welly as it is here and for me it takes me about half as long to get my gear on as it does to ride to work so sometimes it is easier to jump in the car – especially when it is raining the way it has been in the last month or so ๐Actually riding home is wonderful even if it is wet - somehow so much more relaxing.Malcolm
Great write up Garry, looks like you had a ball and covered some fabulous countryside.ย Looking forward to the sequelย ๐
in reply to: New format #6328That's wonderful Neko, thankyou very much. ๐
I find the “reds under beds” mentality quite humourous. Of course there are folk who have held positions in the club before and they along with many others have been instrumental in guiding the club to it’s present situation. They have a long lasting and keen interest in the club and want to see it prosper and grow. Do you seriously think they should sit quietly by when they disagree with an issue – come on Alex. Sorry to repeat myself but the AGM is the very forum where these issues should be raised in order for issues to be crystal clear and be recorded for all to see in the minutes.
Sorry Alex, we see this quite differently so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. ๐If they were it escaped me Alex. There were some points to be made and I think they were well made. There were a number of issues that could have been made that were left alone. As meetings go it was tame by comparison with some I’ve been to. In an organisation such as ours we depend on the few that are prepared to front up with the hard questions and while one might not agree with them they have a place and should be encouraged.
in reply to: Battery tender #6073Thanks for your input guys. It did take a long time and I must admit I got fed up waiting and haven’t looked for a couple of weeks ๐
I've used a battery tender on my BMs since they started using ABS. Never had a problem nor had to renew a battery.
I have done a fair bit of research on the UKgsers and Adventure sites and
it seems just about everything has been tried and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. So where does that leave a poor electrically challenged printer? If I decide I need a charger I think I'll get a mortgage and buy the BMW item.
It seems curious that although the 1200s have fancy new batteries that "they say" hold a charge longer than the old style, they then go on about hooking up to a charger if standing longer than 4 weeks!!! Well mostly my bike will get a run every couple of weeks or so but I'm a cautious soul and don't like getting caught out. Having said that I don't think the previous owner used a charger so maybe I should wait and see. Anyway guys thanks for taking the time to post. I appreciate it.
Malcolmin reply to: More pics from Omokoroa #6088Now why didn’t I think of that Alex. ๐ณ
in reply to: BMWOR website sticker #5865I’ll have to get into this. Can’t see my telelever and didn’t look right on the paralever so it had to go on the pannier – methinks it looks OK .
Malcolmin reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5040I saw this old place a month or two ago but didn’t have my camera so had to make another trip. Anyone recognise it? OK take a quiet ride up Upper Queen Street not too far short of Newton Road and you’ll find it on the left tucked in between and behind a couple of other old places ๐
in reply to: T-Shirts Would you buy one? #5981I’ll be in for a couple with the GS Alex, red bike would be better though ๐
Malcolmin reply to: BMWOR website sticker #5847Count me in Alex, I’d put one on the car too ๐
