in reply to: OFF ROAD ADVENTURE COACHING #12459
👿 Ahh you've seen them too Alex. I tried using them once – we were sailing into the Tory Channel by the time I was tied down 😐
in reply to: OFF ROAD ADVENTURE COACHING #12457Thanks Alex, please keep me posted. We too have booked on the Interislander cost $270 return for two plus the bike which is very reasonable. I didn't realize we had to call a special group number 0800 878 898 but they were very helpful and we got sailings that were not shown as available on the web site when we looked. Interesting that she said we must take our own tie downs (I do anyway) but never been told that before.
in reply to: OFF ROAD ADVENTURE COACHING #12455I'll be in for that Alex, I'll take the Sherpa though not the GS 😆Malcolm
in reply to: R100RS plastics – cleaning product #12576Hi Terry,There are a few products on the market but most are expensive. Over the years I've used black boot polish on old plastic then Neopol furniture polish which gives a good gloss and doesn't wash off. The other reasonably inexpensive option is a can of silicon spray but Neopol is the go for me. Give it a try.malcolm

in reply to: Is There a Motorcycle Museum in Kopane? #12537Hi Alex, when we were at the Nat Rally in Waipuk last January a bunch of the guys rode over to Palmy to visit a bike museum and I'm pretty sure it was this one in Kopane. However to get it right I just rang Gerrard and he tells me it is there but is a private museum and not one that you can just wander in to. Perhaps someone who was on the run back in January will pick up your post and offer some advice.Good luck Malcolm
in reply to: Auckland – Opononi – Russell – Auckland #12513Well done Alex and Gerda. Always in interesting write up from you guys and it brings back happy memories looking at your photo's.

in reply to: Heat-pumps ? #12334Sorry guys the reason for my post was the $500 offer from the government for an installation of the heat pump Alex was thinking of.
in reply to: Heat-pumps ? #12331If you haven't already committed to an installation Alex this might be worth a look:http://www.dvs.co.nz/index.php/pi_pageid/162?gclid=CPXileOXmpsCFQk_agodvGuxBgNot sure of the fine print but could save you a few dollars for gas.Malcolm
in reply to: Virus protection #12352Well that's comforting to know Alex 😐 like saying you've got swine flu but only the guinea pig version…Malcolm
in reply to: Virus protection #12350Interesting situation – now I can access this site through another post eg Artig tonight re Adobe alternative but if I try from my favourites I get my Eset window telling me the virus has been quarantined but cannot get through. Any thoughts please?
in reply to: Revs/speed #12341Howdy G, Thanks for your input. I do have the owners manual but can't find anything useful regarding engine speed v road speed. It gives change up and down speeds but doesn't relate these to RPM or say anything about cruising speed/revs. I'm sure DTY is right and the gear ratios are in the book so could be used to give a pretty good idea. If I was to ride to Palmy I would be happy to cruise along at the legal limit give or take a few. My reason for putting the question was not because I was at all worried – just curious and I doubt my riding style will over stress anything. Hi to CathyTake careMalcolm
