I agree Dave, I'd go as far as to say he's their top man – nothing is ever a problem and he is totally reliable.

A fair bit I'd say Jim, I just get on the internet and order and it can be here withing days from just about anywhere on the globe. Who needs BMW NZ?

Interesting thought Red, that was sort of how the “Register” came to be.  Perhpaps that should be “why” the Register came to be.  As I understand it the BMW owners had some problems sourcing parts and gear back in the dark days so a few got together and started getting stuff in to the country themselves and eventually came up with the idea of a register of bikes and their owners.  Of course we still do that every year on our renewal forms but it's not quite as important now but I have to say since the ozzies took charge we seem to have less and less  contact with BMW unless they want us to change our logo or something else really important.

And when you've had your lunch why don't you come on down to the beach at Narrow Neck and join in the fun.  BMWOR tent lots of bikes and some good blues to listen to.  http://www.bluesBBQbikes.co.nz

Bruce, I said commute to the city mate, I still commute on the north shore, further I do van deliveries between 1pm and 3pm and it can get a little hectic at times.  It's interesting how many times I'm beeping/cursing some silly old coot at intersections/lights/round abouts – then realize I look a bit like the silly old coot I'm cursing.  😡

It's been a few years since I commuted to the city but the first time I used the bus lanes and was first in line at the priority lights I was unsure quite what to do but I figured holding up a bus was not going to be appreciated.  I never found out what the law is but surely if one can use the lane then it follows that one should follow the traffic signals applying to that lane.

Sorry Roger, the “BMWOR” to click is large and bold inset in the picture with the date underneath.  Can be confusing.

Hi Roger, if you return to the home page (click BMWOR at top left of this screen) you will find an invitation to “Become a member”.  You can then choose either of the options offered.  Good luck.Malcolm

I had to call in to Jeff Grey recently while on my way to the rally to replace an indicator.  Couldn't fault them but at this stage I'm not sure if they have a dedicated bike mechanic so I guess you should give them a call first.

Thanks Dave, I've had a quick look at his prints mostly of Central Otago and could easily see myself buying one.  A really beautiful part of the country and he captures it perfectly.

Not particularly special in itself but as it was in the little village of Cambrians in Central Otago and just a few doors from Anton Oliver's crib I thought it worth a place.  Apparently there is a well known artist by the name of Sydney? who also has a place here but being bereft of any artistic knowledge I don't know of him.

Pleased I can post this Alex, stone but very neglected and would I suspect have been impressive when in use.  We think it was probably the old Catholiic School building at St. Bathans but could be wrong.

I'll try again 😕 this was taken in St. Bathans not far from the Vulcan hotel.  I think it is a small water canon, there is a larger one over the bar in the hotel.  A great place to stay and the food is first class.

Northern Thailand sounds great.  It wasn't the one that my good friend John Samson was on by any chance?
