Ah I wish Dean, the bike is nine years old and has been neglected somewhat. I appreciate there were many problems with the metalwork on this model but I think a warranty claim would be laughed out of the door at this time in the bike's life. And to be honest I don't think I have the face to try it. 😛
in reply to: Free Oil and Filter Promotion #13948Have you asked them Dean?
in reply to: RIDE REPORT FROM USA #13844You think you get a furry feeling in your throat after drinking that stuff Garry?
in reply to: Free Oil and Filter Promotion #13945I took advantage of the offer last week and had Sebastion and the boys give the Cruiser the once over. Still an expensive excercise but worth it for peace of mind. After a lot of hard work she's looking much tidier and I'm waiting for a break longer than 10 minutes in the weather to go for a decent ride (Bwucie is heading to Rotorua on Sunday so fingers crossed). Ordered one of those fancy Accelerator booster plugs everyone is talking about in the hope of smoothing out the low speed jerkiness. Of course it could just be my unsteady hands, or perhaps I should just ride faster 🙄

in reply to: Hello from South Africa – Centurion #13895Hi Chris, and welcome. I like your quote, if you ever get to ride in New Zealand it will serve you well. 😉
in reply to: Chrome plating #13914Thanks Mic, since your first post I have been using a 400 grit disc on my drill with Autosol as suggested. I have some 1000 and 1500 grit discs too and a wool polisher so will probably rub the bloody things away by the time I've finished 😉
in reply to: Chrome plating #13912Too late I'm afraid 😕 unfortunately i'm not so wise because I started with steel wool so I guess the best I can now do is to try to give the whole shooting box a real good clean out. Maybe a careful blast with the water blaster then a good scrub with a stiff brush. Then I'll squirt plenty of WD 40 in the nooks and crannies and keep my fingers crossed. Bummer I should have waited for the feedback.
in reply to: Chrome plating #13910Good one Jim, I'll keep that in mind. At present I'm trying to deal with the exhaust system which fortunately is Stainless but still taking a hell of a lot of work to get out the corrosion. Had a smile at the old priest joke too 😆 Chris and Shane what a couple of dorks eh.
in reply to: Chrome plating #13908Thanks guys, that gives me something to work on. As I clean up this machine i'm finding a few things that could do with re chroming. Gear shift lever, brake lever, etc etc etc mirror stalks are so bad I think replacement will be required. So I'll take stock when I've identified the bits I think should be done and see about getting them done altogether. Realised the exhaust system is not chromed so i'm getting into it with a 400 grit sanding disc which rips the stuff off in no time after spending hours with 0000 steel wool 😆 and getting nowhere slowly.
in reply to: BLAST FROM THE PAST #13866Dosen't Terrence look nice in the suit jacket
For sure and I think he could still get in to that same jacket. There are few of us that couldn't do that but it's good that we're still about to have a laugh about it.
in reply to: Chrome plating #13902Hmm, thanks Alex, they look worth a visit.
in reply to: RIDE REPORT FROM USA #13831OK you beat me to it 😀
in reply to: RIDE REPORT FROM USA #13830Very envious of you two at the start of your adventure. Say hi to Jim for me please (he might remember me as the one who got the flashing brake lights after seeing them on his 75.) Keep us posted and send some pics too if you get the chance please. Take care out there.
