As part of the folding team last night, I was privy to the release of the newsletter in FULL COLOUR. Look forward to it; you will be impressed. I must confess when I heard about the inquires going on for a colour Newsletter, I was sceptical, as I had gone through the same exercise when I was editor. I had a sample copy printed in colour, but the end result was shiny pictures that did not look good at all. This month's edition is using different paper and a different printing system. I put my hand up for the continuance of this very much improved Newsletter.I am sure you will share my enthusiasium when you receive your copy before this weekend: - Posted out today.

Just arrived in my snail mail box Dave and it's been a long time coming, and at that price is a steal - well done Garry.  😀  Only pity is that the effect of technology on bikes is to drive the cost up!!! wonder why.

Can't wait Dave, I guess all of the ex eds lusted after seeing their copy in colour but as you found the cost back then was prohibitive.  I got as far as an issue being printed then realized they had  quoted me for one issue not eleven!!!!!!  So back to black and white.  Gary has worked hard at this and I'm sure it'll revitalize the mag.  I found a copy of my attempt and you'll notice I picked up a small error and marked it for correction but never to be seen. There are a few faces we don't see any more and a few we hardly recognize myself included.001-2.jpgI'm on a roll now, this one was an early proof:002-2.jpg

I would have quite liked a 12 volt charger but haven't seen any on their website. Any thoughts?

Is this what you're looking for Ken.http://coreheat.net/Products/Chargers.htmlOooops, sorry just seen that they are not available  :-[

Further to my search for panniers I spoke with Gr82briding and had a look at his SW MOTEC TRAX SYSTEM.  The panniers are considerably lighter than the Trekker with a better mounting system so I have some on the way.  Thanks for all the input guys.

You're misjudging my age Steve, I was in the Pre Frontal era.  Anyway as I sit here I'm toasty in my new jacket – feels a bit like an electric blanket so who knows I might even be tempted to do a Brassy again one day. 8)

Mine arrived by courier today. Cost $20 on TradeMe + $10 for shipping. Amazingly well packed with plenty of documentation. Battery charged up and I'm trying it out (or on!) now. Seems pretty warm so far.  🙂

I think that's both, but it could be...  out, on. Or... on, out.  ::)You must have got in early Ken, by the time I came along they were starting at $30 with a buy now at $35 but hey whose quibbling even if they don't work they're still a well made item.  Only problem I can see for us on bikes is in heavy rain. I always get a little damp around the neck causing which could pose problems??

I just got my two this afternoon.  Bought one “buy now” and when I went in to pick it up I asked if they had any ladies left but they had sold out.  Anyway we liked mine so much I went back in and asked if they had any small mens and yes so Jean is a happy camper with her new $35 heated coat.  They really are such a bargin that I'm beginning to think the constabulary might be knocking on the door soon, Steve???

One day I will have enough time and patience to work out how to load a picture onto this forum...untill then you will just have to use your imagination..I saw the sign on the forgotten world highway just outside DOUGLAS it readsCEMETARY ROAD..........NO EXIT !!!RegardsRincewind

Hi Dave, take a look at the Help File you will see Kokopelli has given details about posting pics which work very well (they must I use them).  Hope this helps.

Sometimes I think those who determine road names are trying to have a bit of fun, and possibly creating a few puzzles at the same time. Not far off SH29 in the Lower Kaimai area there is a short road with a couple of sharp corners called Dyer Straight.Off Maungatautari Rd there is a no-exit road called Luck At Last Rd.And at Waiotahi, within about 4km of each other, are two roads that seemed quite appropriate for my new avatar. Looney Rd and Toones Rd.No doubt there are many other examples in various parts of the country.

Good one Arne, this should be the start of something new.  ::)
