It was Hard work Stephen but worth every drop of sweat  😉 Definatly getting to the top end of my skill level in a few places.  😮 The drop on Benmoore Rd was hilarious, brown wet clay with slime growing on it, we were all thinking the same thing “maybe I should stop and let some air out of the tyres”. Male pride being what it is to stupid to stop until gravity did it for me  😀Looking forward to the MMMM this year, hell sooner or later I will complete the entire thing  😀 I was amongst the first to register so get a bed so wont be staying at the pub this year (not that I didnt enjoy it last year).

Definatly not sealed  😮 The road from Tamuranui to Ohura is sealed but across the Waitaanga's to Ahititi has a long section of gravel. No issue's on a GS as its well maintained metal  😀 As an alternative you could turn towards Whanga after you come off the River Rd and then go across the Moki Rd and Mount Damper. Joins back onto the Ohura/Ahititi Rd after the metal section. Moki Rd only has a short metal section.  😀

Man at the shop asked if I wanted hard or soft brake pads. Give me the soft ones  😀 He then told me about brake fade wear etc so I told him about disc costs and feathering brakes to keep them cool and working  😀 Im with you Gerard.  😎

Ah no, sorry. Not the young buggers at all. Middle aged men are the worst statistic. Yep thats us (well technically I am past middle age but wont admit it).Ever been on a group ride with a bunch of older guys, you know the types, bussiness men, accountants, self employed, ex law enforcement personal, etc and suddenly realised you are travelling at 130 plus  😕Its no use blaming every urban myth for our problems (cage drivers cause all the accidents etc) and accept that we are a high risk group. The only risk that I can manage is my own so no use bleating about "THEM" who are the problem. A bit like looking for that Chinese guy who causes all the worlds problems  😮 That said we need to ensure that ACC is based on a fair system. Why should those lucky enough to own more than one vehicle pay more than one lot of ACC? I cant drive my car and ride my bike at the same time. Just dont have enough arms and arseholes to do it.Licence based ACC levies? Based on the classes of licence. Factor into this years held, driving record age etc. Ok its not as simple as registration but a lot fairer.  😀

Well actually its on the left or the right depending on which road you are on. I kid you not  😀Only the Thai could come up with a system so simple for them but hard for westerners to grasp.http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=7.891949,98.297939&spn=0.043359,0.054159&z=14The two roads running parrellel to the beach are one way roads (travelled in a clockwise direction). The roads crossing between the two roads are all right hand drive. All other roads in Phuket are left hand drive.Believe it or not it actually makes sense as all traffic turning in or out of the cross roads is turning right so there is no crossing of traffic at intersections  😀

Try NAC (national auto club). Free road side rescue low excess, low premiums and they only insure classic bikes and cars. I like being a classic  😀

If the deal is 5 for $50 can we get 5 bikes done for a hundy? Also if the caps are green and the hi viz vest is also do the riders get filled with Nitrogen as well? (but wait theres more  😀 ) How on earth will Nitrogen assist with tyre temperature when you are riding in snow  😮My life was much less confusing before you posted this question Phil  😉

Spread the sheet on the ground and rode over it. Didnt see any logs and most noticable result was from the woman who chased me down the driveway, should she have thrown logs at me? How will Nitrogen affect the impact of the logs landing on the spread sheet?Life was less complicated once  😕

Oxygen can pass through rubber. This is why you should check your tyres often and also explains why they loose so much pressure after the initial inflation.Heat is the big enemy of tyres. They are all designed to work in a set heat range, to cold they dont grip, to hot they wear excessivley. (must learn to spell that wurd one day  :-D). If tyres run at to low pressure they build up heat  :x. To much heat can also cause damage to the case. 99% of those bits of truck tyre you see on the highways are from recaps that have been put onto a case that has been overheated at some time in its life, but I digress  🙄Do tyre manufacturers design tyres to run on pure Nitrogen or just your plain old yacht fuel, ahhh now theres the question we should be asking  😀
