In the interest of saving me money lets get the Police to stop and prevent all forms of fun in this fair country. ::)
in reply to: How irresponsible !!!!! #15689it's all relative.they're relatively confident and competent on what looks like a controlled environment with a good surface.we are all relatively judgemental. Some comments come from people I have witnessed breaking the law, but relatively safely by my judgement.JEALOUSY? who of the commentators have achieved what is depicted? not me!
Well relatively speaking that sure takes the wind out off that bit of fun ::)
in reply to: How irresponsible !!!!! #15685Goodness me, your right!! Totally irresponsible >:( Neither of them are wearing Hi – Viz 😮
in reply to: GASKET GOO #15581Cork, rubber, synthetic, paper gasket? Heat range? pump type? tyre pressures ???Possibly a few more clues as to what you are doing could help with recomendations ;D
in reply to: R1150XX pivot bearings #15536They wont show wear but replace em anyway Koko, Its cheaper in the long run ;D
in reply to: R1150XX pivot bearings #15534My two cents, When you replace the bearings also replace the pins. I have done mine on the RS and the GS and have never used loctite. In my humble opinion a fine thread toqued up that tight wont come loose. Hasnt so far so I may be right. The risk with Loctite is you can end up pulling the thread out of the alloy housing. Especially if heat is applied also.I have lubed the threads on mine then assembled them, and they are still in there!!! A simple scribe line will tell you instantly if the pins have started to move.Adjustment of the bearings is critical. Ever noticed its the same for the front wheel bearings of Te Moto Ka? And how do we adjust them you arks? With a handpowered feelo meter ;D Go get some Moly 60 grease from the Honda (can I say that word here?) Shop and give the bearings some of that. Then drink beer ;D
in reply to: ACC Levies to be cut?????? #15305An outfit like that making such huge profits would be worth buying I reckon. Wonder if its for sale?
in reply to: Same clutch, different problem! #14727Not one hundred percent up with the play on the BMW hydraulic clutch sustems but as a guy who plays with things from time to time it sounds to me like (pauses for breath). A compounding effect ;DNothing to do with heat, after all how much heat is the system subject too? Sometimes (for various reasons) when the clutch is activated upon release the fluid can be restricted from returning to the Master Cylinder reservour. (ok so I cant spell that word) Which means it stays in the line and holds pressure on the release bearing, ta da, clutch slip 😮Things to check; initial adjustments, angles affect stroke and force thats why they need to be correctly set up. Master Cylinder, if it has a foot valve make sure it is operating correctly, clutch lever returning to the fully released position.Start with the simple things then work in from there ;D
in reply to: Downloadable Newsletter #15121If mankind as a species was to never go backover any issues that had already been discussed we would all be wearing uncured skins of dead animals have hairy armpits, and sit round quietly wondering what to talk about ;DI dont agree with doing away with the news letter :'( That doesnt mean it cant be discussed ;D
in reply to: Downloadable Newsletter #15118The strength of any club, group etc is not in how much money it has in the bank but in its membership. Keeping those members interested and active is the mystery. News Letters are one way of taking the “Group” to its membership. The Internet relys on bringing its membership to the group.Righto, you have a think about that while I go fetch my pipe and slippers, settle into an easy chair and read this thing what I get from my letter box.Believe it or not there is a whole world of things that arn't on a computer. ;DNo you cant Google it 😉
in reply to: Unregistered cars to attract demerit points #15013We can debate endlessly the failings of a very small but highly visible few members of our Society or we can look at those who genuinly are trying to get on with life.Look at the failures, look at the successes, your choice. Take a deeper look and ask this simple question, how did Society become like this and what have I contributed to the solution?Or just go with the easy one"Why is there a need to change the system since rego fees got increased?" Now thats a question worthy of debate. My theory for what its worth is that by raising rego fees to a stupid level and applying them in an unfair system we have motivated a whole new bunch of people to become criminals.Break that down for ya!!Stupid level = different rates for "powerful' bikes. We are now faced with some of those Powerful bikes being able to be ridden on L PlatesUnfair system = levy paid per vehicle, so people with more than one vehicle but only two arms and one bum still pay for the vehicle in the shed at home. Riders who travel 1 k pay the same rate as those who travel thousands. So there is no reflection of exposure to risk.Motivate people to become criminals = stuggling on the minimum wage, trying to pay bills while cost rise all around you, Whats the worst that can happen if I dont pay this bill?Perhaps those who come from or who have reached financial security would do well to live on the minimum wage for 12 months to know what it would feel like to have your car crushed. Bet we never see a car over $100000 crushed. hell no that would be wrongRant over ;D
in reply to: Unregistered cars to attract demerit points #15011Maybe it's time to stop all the pc bullshit and get a bit more real. Even more importantly, make these people realise what the real world is like and that there is no-one else to pick up their cock-ups Lets take a slightly wider view to that statement shall we. There are some people out there who do need to get real, agreed ;D and there are some out there trying to get real. Those who have come from (for lack of better terms) less priviliged backgrounds. They dont have stack loads of cash or havent been given a good "monetary start" in live. Perhaps they just could be in what is known as the poverty trap. They cant afford the flash as car so have to drive the shitters. The shitters keep them poor, the cycle continues.Do gooders feel sorry for them, Cops think they are just born problems, they get called victims, all that shit. At the end of the day they just people who want some fun and a good life, possibly even a BMW Bike. Will demerits as opposed to a fine help them? It just might as it could be the break they need (no fines) to save enough to get a decent car. Bloody hell if they do that they may even be able to get to work and support themselves and there families.Perhaps the real question here is "why is there a need to change the system since rego fees got increased?"Now thats a question worthy of debate. Not that other drivel.
Really, the cheek of some people 😮 A jokers having a nice quiet coffee in far off Coromandel and suddenly the town is invaded by ooligan ice cream munchers on Beemers. 😉Good to meet you if only briefly Bwucie ;D
in reply to: R1100S Suspension #14875A KPA is killer pascal and they are deadly. 100 KPA is equivelent to a Bar (which is also deadly especially after closing time)A Bar (not a tavern or night club) is approximaitly 14.5 PSI (Pink sircular indicators, which are no longer legal for street use) or one atmosphere (designed for the breathing thereof)So if we extrapatate all that out 250 kilopascal = 36.259 434 502 pound/square inch250 kilopascal = 2.5 bar250 kilopascal = 2.467 307 923 3 atmosphere [standard]And remember, metrics are so simple ;D
