Because we live in a “free country' with governments elected by the people we get what we get. A golden oppurtubity went by when the Government was acused of breaching the bill of rights by discriminating against age when they required persons of a certain age to resit there drivers licence. To suck up to the elders and score some votes this requirement was dropped.A Government with testeklays (no offence Helen) would have made it compulsary for all ages.  😀 Imagine if you had to resit your licence every year until you have held the licence 3 years, then every 5th year after that.  😀 A real driving test where people could actually fail!!! Nah that will never score votes  🙄

Road is low, mountains high  😀 There are many places in Taranaki where you get great views of Ruapehu. Where I load my truck just up from the port I watch the sun rise over Ruapehu at certain times of the year and gaze in awesome wonder as I ask the inevitable question, why is all this chemical overflowing from my truck?  😮 Concentrate grasshopper!! DOH  🙄

Best part is the bike is running awesome!!  😀 Has a brand new shiney starter (easier than pushing). I took the beast to bits and cleaned and checked every electrical connector I could find. Covered them with Electrical grease and she hasnt missed a beat since. I love this bike  😀 (again)

DSCF0009.jpgI seem to be a bit late finding these houses  😀 There must have been quite a stately mansion here once to require two such substantial fireplaces. It is at the end of the Rawhitiroa Rd and is an awesome gravel rd for 19kms. Prior to that its is a narrow very winding single lane Rd. Well worth the ride  😀

The wreck is a 94 RS (Casings may be different not sure but insides are the same allegedly)Gearbox was rebearing about 200ks before whoops.Turners is the Auction house in Palmerston who sold the wreck and Murray is the man from there with the info on who brought it. If it has gone to a wrecker all is sweet as I can track it. If it went to someone to restore it (unlikey in its condition). Who can tell. We will see what Monday brings for you  😀

in reply to: Tyre pressures #10016

Of course a GS is not normal  😀 The mudguard to wheel ratio is totaly exceeded to start with and lets not even start on that funny engine  😮 I almost washed mine today but fought the urge. However tyre pressures. I have ben told that the best way to set your tyre pressures is per ride and should be done thus:Check pressure when tyres are cold and inflate to plate specs. Recheck once the tyres are Hot. If the pressure has risen by 2 - 3 psi your tyre is slightly underinflated (heat is generated by the tyre flexing which in turn creates pressure) If the pressure rise is more than 7 - 8 psi you need to look at your shock absorbers. All well and good but then you need to do this at the start of every ride  😮I favour the bummometer system. It works like this, If my bottom (not the bikes) is not flexing at every corner then its good enough for that ride  😀 I may not get that extra km of tyre life but I get more of mine  😀

Check this out. It may be of some assistance.  :-Dhttp://www.beemerboneyard.com/23002325621.htmlAlso somewhere in New Zealand there is a R1100RS with a fully reconned gearbox. I will try and track it down. The rest of the bike got bashed by a clown on a Triumph.  😡

I'd challenge anyone to fail my bike for being over width when my derrier exceeds the width of the bike..............

Ha!! Small fry, while at the Paeroa Races this year I saw a large Gentleman on a Rocket three (fitted with panniers) and yes 😮 He did hang outside the panniers  🙄 Forget picking up the bike, try standing that back up!!  👿
