Thanks for that, will check them out.

Looks like a good weekend for spanner turning.

I think we might have been there the same time as you guys. I was down on the beach picking up my passenger when 2 bikes, one a 650, showed up. A great view from the restaurant – great venison burgers too.

Saw this little beauty just outside Kaukapakapa on SH16. Had trouble getting out of the gravel on the side of the road but I think it was worth it.

I’ve also been doing a bit of crash testing recently, and have the standard plastic guards.

The first, and most spectacular, involved a freefall through some young trees and old fridges/gas bottles, they managed to get inside the guards and scratch the valve covers to the bone.

The second, a rear-shunt, pushed the bike onto some fresh gravel and again the gap in the guards allowed the valve covers to get nicely scratched.

I'd be well up for a set of guards that did a bit more than catch flies - something with some heavy gauge, close weave wire mesh could probably cover more area and not impact on cooling. The metal guards I've seen from Touratech don't seem to cover that much of the head either. Whatever they cost would be a bit more than I was expecting were you thinking of having a sale?

Maybe the LTSA are onto something – why bother lifting a finger to license/do something, just wait for them all to breakdown. I haven’t got as close to one as Bwucie but something tells me the build quality is working in our favour.

Will certainly give it a try – I’ve got a few maintenance checks I want to do but am waiting on the availability of the new Haynes (Amazon have sold out).

Nipped out as soon as I posted the last one – Pre-loading worked a treat thanks, I’ve just got to remember to do it.

let me know next time you're going for a ride, (I'm confined to car this coming weekend).

Yeh, a good price, but I hadn’t thought about the emissions thing – I am guessing this will impact on power.
