I'll need to change the fork oil and get a new rear tyre, then I am good to go. Are you still in, Haggis?
Alex, Yes, I am still in. Very much looking forward to it. 😀
in reply to: Bronz Riding Course #12007Here's the site. http://www.rrrs.org.nz
Thanks.I'll need to read the newsletter properly next time.
in reply to: Bronz Riding Course #12002Sounds good. Can anyone point me in the right direction for signing up for it?
in reply to: King Country Adventure ride (Kiwibiker) #11957I think we'll have to organize accommodation fairly soon. I anyone else in? It's probably a good idea to add yourself to the list on Kiwibiker.
I've booked a family cabin at Taumarunui Holiday Park for the Saturday night [no standard cabins left] . It has 4 beds so room for 3 others. Works out at $20/head if all 4 beds taken. If anyone wants one, let me know asap.Alex: Have you booked somewhere near Otorohanga?

It would be courteous. At the very least, let the organiser know you're coming.
Done........I am still relatively new to this and couldn't see how I could confirm on Kiwi Biker....but then I realised that I had to log in first :-D.
in reply to: King Country Adventure ride (Kiwibiker) #11951Alex, please mark me in for this one. Looks too good to miss. I think I'll put off putting back on the windshield until after it though 😀
in reply to: South Coast Adventure #11877Great photos. Looks like tricky/slow going for a lot of the way but great fun all the same.
in reply to: Lost in Aotuhia #9194Great story. Having done the Whanga with Alex, Peter & Richard a few weeks back, I can easily picture it but your route sounds worse than the Whanga? I wouldn't dream of trying the Whanga or your route on a GS [never mind my GSA] on my own – that's mad isn't it??? 😀Alex: I will be up for the CCA if you can stand the company.I also wanted to do the Southern Cross but seems family demands will take my wife to UK that week and I can't leave my son on his own. Thought about taking him with me but school comes first.
in reply to: Taranaki/Old Whangamommona Road Adventure Ride #11794I am trying again to add some photos. Thanks to Colin by the way for showing us around his patch. I enjoyed the Kiwi Road.
in reply to: Taranaki/Old Whangamommona Road Adventure Ride #11789Not sure what I am doing wrong but my posts on this are being rejected due to attachment [photo] size. I'll work it out over w'end and add photos.Sorry to Peter and Richard for racing ahead with Alex on the last leg home. I should have twigged that you weren't just cruising and Richard's concern about noise might have been more than a rattly exhaust. It was a great two days. Check out Alex's water skills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB7fBLvu21w
in reply to: Whangamomona and Fisher’s track Adv. Ride #11604Well done Alex for organising this. I really enjoyed it [Thanks also to Colin for showing us the Kiwi Road etc.]. On the way back, when you turned left near Huntly I assumed you were off on the back roads to avoid the traffic but I had to get home quick and gambled on the main highway being reasonably clear. It was except for the first bit thro the villages.Got home just in time to give the bike a wash in daylight and see that apart from the bent windscreen frame, there's no damage that a cloth and polish won't fix. I've got bruises from ankle to knee on both legs. Didn't feel them until I had a shower, made a cup of tea, put my legs up and...chuckled at the video clips on my camera 😀
in reply to: Whangamomona and Fisher’s track Adv. Ride #11603Good stuff. The Whangamomona Road reads like it will be interesting :-D. It and some of the tunnels were on a TV travel show last week. I can't remember what the show was called but it was celebrating NZ being marked as the place to visit in 2009.
in reply to: DTY’s Northern Motorway Motorcycle only Preview #11534Great event Dave – well done. We got a sauna thrown in with the cut & fill lesson 😀 I'll be glad to get a copy of some of the photos and video. All those bikes on that brand new empty highway has got to look good.
in reply to: Bike Security #11744Sounds like a noisy disc lock is the way to go. Thanks 🙂
in reply to: Tyre for GSA #11719Got a TKC fitted at Cycletreads for $310 incl fitting. Seems fine.
