Cheers YJ, it was a glorious spring day, I had great company and was a pretty decent sort of bike to be out on π
Great day on Monday as well with the BMW Driver Training crew out at Pukekohe.
I'd recommend this course to anyone who drives, in fact for a lot of drivers today it ought to be compulsory.
Of course, an added benefit was a rumble around in this....
Damn, I really need to find that chequebook now!!!Get hold of Kerry at Motohaus and ask him to show you the Vee Rubber VRM147, should hang onto an 1150 okay.
AND GET THE TYRE INSTALLED BACK TO FRONT OR THE WRONG SIZE TIRE OR JUST NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLTS. I WILL NEVER GO THERE FOR TIRES AGAIN. π―
Jeez, I only suggested a look π
Do like me, change your own tyres - I've only ever put one on backwards π³in reply to: Caterton Paua World Ride Sunday 13 August – or not #6157Kokopelli wrote:Guys, stop making me jealous. I am sitting here with a dripping nose feeling miserable. I must make the club ride on the weekend.
Thanks for the pictures.

What, there's another way to get it going βin reply to: Cracks around the front guard of your Dakar? #6149Kokopelli wrote:I’ve only just now noticed your interesting seat arrangement. Tell us more.
Standard BMW option for the GS Alex. Retails around $500 as I recall. Single seat with lockable storage compartment at rear. More room than you think too and great for adventure riding!! I carry spare tubes, tyre levers, an additional tool roll and other odds and sods - just in case of course, usually it's used helping out others with flat tyres and no tools.in reply to: Terawhiti Station – Sunday 30 July #6084Youngjim wrote:conditions were certainly more suited to the lighter trail bikes but it still looked a terrific day out.
Certainly YJ - I'm a bit knackered today, some days you just wish you had a WR450 π Having said that, it was a load of fun once we got off the shitty stuff and onto some solid ground in the valleys.in reply to: Video: Erzberg 2006- BMW HP2 #6077Very cool 8)

Bike not leaking as of today (overfill probably all dumped now)
Then definitley a good idea to take out air filter and clean (or replace). Bike will love him for it 8)in reply to: Torque wrenches. any suggestions? #6062Kokopelli wrote:I will be servicing the GS myself from know on.
GS out of warranty now is it πin reply to: Torque wrenches. any suggestions? #6059AlexW wrote:I currently have a ‘talk wench’, who has been quite expensive over the years, and has issues with accuracy (mine mostly) nor does she like being wound up too much.
You shouldn't talk about the person who ultimately makes decisions on what toys you have Alex π
I have a Powerbuilt 3/8Γ’β¬? Dr Calibrated from 5 to 80 foot pounds, 0.7 to 11.1 meter kilograms. I like it as it is one of the few with a patented mechanism that automatically Γ’β¬ΛreleasesΓ’β¬β’ the wrench when the preset torque is reached. Reasonably accurate, not too expensive as far as I recall and sufficinet for all work in my wee garage. Part number is 644045 and places like Repco will have in stock.in reply to: F650 Oil ‘Leak’ #6055Hi Mark,
If it is leaking from the little pipe (4-6 mm dia) then this is fuel, I would think. I had a 98 Funduro and in the 80,000km I did on it I don't recall ever dumping oil, but it did dump a little fuel out of one of the two pipes, usually when I overfilled it if engine was hot - trying to squeeze max kms on adventures π Does it only happen when he has filled up?
The air box has a drain pipe but this is quite big 8mm + dia but oil can come out from this as the engine breather vents to the air box. More so when Kms get high, how many has he got on it?
The fumes/oil mist from the engine can build up over a while and cause some oil to drip out. Tell him to take out the air filter and have a good look inside the air box clean out any excess oil. Would have to check for heavy breathing, The bike!!!!!!
All the best
