in reply to: Sore wrists #9413

Guys,Fascinating to read this thread as I thought I was the only one with the problem.  I rode from Waikanae to New Plymouth on the windiest Saturday so far this year.  When I arrived my wrists were quite sore, despite numerous stops.  I put it down to have to hang on so much in the damn wind.  Returning the next day, no wind, the problem arose after about a half an hour.  By the time I arrived home they were quite sore: it made the ride quite unpleasantI have dicked around with the seat hight, but I can't go too high as I am a bit short at one end.  Looking at the bars on my R1100RT, I cannot see how they can be adjusted other than adding shims and the like.  Any ideas? 😎

I have a shelf on my R1100RT which came from http://www.bmrproducts.com/index.php.  It fits well and took 10 minutes to install.  I mount my detector on that.Cheers

Has anyone installed a Panasonic like the one in this topic in an R1100RT?  I am nursing the current one along and will need on soon.  Can any tell me about the socket battery chargers and if they are on the web, I would be interested if they were simple to use and did a good job.  Getting at the battery in my machine is a matter of undoing 18 allen screws and removing the faring so anything simple would be good.Cheers

When my 97 R1100RT reads 100km the GPS is on 96.  That's not too bad.  I generally set the bike on 110 and cruise on.Cheers 🙂

Reofix,I use a UNIDEN detector (GPS9000NZ) with the GPS locations of the fixed speed cameras.  It detects amongst other, the KA and L bands.  It's about 4 years old and has been a good investment. I use it in my car and rental cars when I use them.  I get pinged when I come into a town when you are unaware of the location of the cameras.  I now have it mounted on a co-pilot shelf on my R1100RT as I commute around 120 kms per day.  I have it set in the speed mode to act as a second speedo.  There has been a notable increase in police activity as my KA band triggers a lot more than say in March.Cheers

Dick,Thanks for your comments.  I have checked the website you included and it looks fantastic.  I do like the idea of a unit that is programmable and what's more it makes sense.  I will get one 😀Thanks

Bryan,Thanks for your comments.  I tried to use the horn yesterday and instead started the left indicators.  I am noticing now though I can change lanes etc without looking for the switches.  By the way, where did you get the self cancelling equipment?  I have trawled the web with no luck.Cheers and enjoy you rides

Pat,Thanks for this.  I was musing yesterday to a friend, a former K owner about the indicators and wondered why whe haven't had cancelling indicators.  I thought there must be some arcane reason to deep for me to comprehend! All the best Pat and enjoy your rides
