in reply to: Enforcement wish list #10514
How about this... no demerits ... no fines ... just compulsory training from a registered person following an offence... competency based test following the training and license returned ... result ... a hell of alot better drivers and safer roads ... only downside ... total cut off of revenue stream to wellington (boohoo)
Training Training!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No if you train Divers/riders. They will only think they are "Good drivers/riders, so will only go faster. So the " Land Transport" would have us believe. 👿 Regards Phil
in reply to: BMW Factory in Berlin #10570I don't understand, they must have been Turkish gastarbeiter (or whatever the word is in the People's Republic of China), none of the workers looked Asian. Not in the least Chinese.
It's all done with computer graphics Bwucie Regards Phil
The G450X has now had the price set for Australia, at $12,450, and first stocks will arrive on September 20. I wonder what the price will translate to in NZ?See: http://www.mcnews.com.au/2009_Bikes/BMW/450/BMW_450_Enduro.htm
Does'nt look like much bike for well over 12,000 NZD.
in reply to: R1150gs clock reset #10488I raised the tank, took out the battery, topped up the terminal levels, put the battery back in and now my digital clock keeps resetting itself back to zero when I turn the bike off! Help!
Just time standing still you won't get any older 👿
in reply to: Radar detectors #10115I have hidden mine already since they talked about the posibility of making them illegal. Mine now resides inside my tank bag and still seems to work ok.🙂
They could always get a search warrant :evil In fact if they think you are carrying drugs, one is not needed 👿 👿 👿 Phil
in reply to: Buying a 1150 GS at last! #10084Its got a dead sheep on it 😮

in reply to: Tyre pressures #10027Cool, I won't tell you what I thought it stood for then 😀
No worry you don't have to Regards Phil
in reply to: Tyre pressures #10025I give up, what does HAM stand for? My wife had some suggestions but they're not appropriate for publication.
"Ham a showy performer". to overplay a part (Ie the actor was hamming it up). Yes Alex the shoe does fit. Regards Phil
in reply to: Tyre pressures #10021Most tyres are black and round. The BMW ones are round and black. I suppose they may have a stiffer sidewall because of the porky weight.
Are you saying BMW riders are HAM riders? 👿
in reply to: Tyre pressures #10017Just to add fuel to the fire, when I got my last set of tyres, Continental Road Attacks, there are two tyres in the same size, one for normal bikes and one for BMW. 👿
I'm hurt !! How can they say my beemer isn't normal !! I'm off out to my garage to see if my Road Attacks (yes, I've got them too) say anything about BMW specific. How could they............. 😡 😡 😡 😡
Well did they?
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6866A simple box on an elaborate pedestal. Old Te Aroha Rd.
How who does that pedestal remind me of hum!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙄
in reply to: Let your Helmet call 911 #9978Sounds quite clever, did they say if it could be retro fitted to all types of helmets? Unfortunately you can get yourself quite mangled up without banging up your helmet, so I suppose they would have thought of allowing the rider to manually set off the alarm?I would be interested in a device like that, if it is small enough and not likely to implant itself in my head on impact.
Just think if it did that, you would be able to call 911 just by banging your head on a wall. 👿
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6862[Is that where junk mail ends up /
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5253This one, just off SH29 near the Kaimai summit, was probably abandoned a few years ago. The chimney remains as the only evidence that a house once stood on this site. No trees. No level ground. Nothing but grass all around.
Thats my out door fire place!!!!! Join me some time for a BBQ ? Phil
in reply to: matching tyres #9916Coupled with a realistic assessment of the bike I ride and how I ride it.What is more important than matched sets pf tyres are (in my humble opinion) tyres that match or exceed "MY" riding requirements
So at the end of all that, if it suits you and you are happy (that word again) with it. No one else is going to tell you what is best for you and thats the way it should be. Regards Phil
