in reply to: R1200GS broke down! #8053
Whatever BMW call it, it's not exactly cheap.
Nothing to-do with BMW is ever cheap, but then if you want the best 😐 or is it??????? Phil
in reply to: R1200GS broke down! #8050A relay is a magnetic switch, I suppose that makes it a solenoid.
Without getting to carried away, a relay uses a solenoid to pull in a set of contacts, so therefor is only part of a relay. Phil 😀
in reply to: R1200GS broke down! #8048? Is it a solenoid or a relay ? Phil 👿
in reply to: R1200GS broke down! #8046🙄 I had the same trouble with the fuel pump relay on a (Dare I say it) 🙄 Ducati some years back. None in stock in NZ, and the cost was something like $230.00, so I took the old one to an auto elect. supply shop and they found a replacement, at a cost of about $25.00. I plugged it in and we were away. It was still going when I sold the bike some 12 years latter. “Makes you wonder” Phil

(quote) “If you do pull the clutch in you may not have much braking at all.” ( Unquote) You should never disengage the motor when going down hill in mud or gravel, you are in danger of locking up the back when you reengage, same applies in a corner. Anyone else like to comment? Phil
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5196quote author=Kokopelli link=topic=47.msg3169#msg3169 date=1179084159]That's a good one. I also like Phil's one little red one at the top of the page. Yesterday I spotted one along the coast of Thames, no camera of course. Next time 🙂Don,t tell me I have missed one on the Thames coast road?I'll have to have a word with my spotter. Here's one on the road to Porangahau in the Hawke's bay.I do get around 😉[img][/img]
in reply to: Club ride to Pauanui #7738Does anyone have a suggestion for sleeping pillion passengers. Coming up the Southern Motorway I felt this body slump against me and the two helmets hit before my pillion was jolted awake. I'm a little concerned about this and pleased she fell forward instead of to the side. I think I really want to avoid this situation in future.
Don't worry I have never had anyone fall off the back yet. There has been times when I wish they would 👿 But the thing is would you be charged with having an insecure load 😕 Phil
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5192Sure, it counts. But where is it?
Along the Thames coast on the way to Coromandal Town. Here is 2 more views of the same building
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6797Somewhere on the coromandel Phil
