Sounds like a great idea Scott I should be able to spare a week (or two) so I will watch with interest. Will have to buy a few bits and pieces but I'm sure it will fit on the bike.We now live in (actually just south of) Katikati and like Mirror-Man there is space for tents/garage space/beds etc.Look forward to the unfolding of the idea.CheersIan

Good RR Gary and I also enjoyed the Rally rides, Aslan and I took a different route down (Black Forest Station instead of Haka Valley) and we also put our bikes on the Earnslaw and went down the road from Walter Peak Station past Lake(s) Mavora. ๐Ÿ˜€ย  ๐Ÿ˜€ย  ๐Ÿ˜€A Great time was had.CheersIan

The switch gear on the bike is standard for the bike; i.e. left indicator left thumb right indicator right thumb, cancellation for both by right thumb. That bike is a very nice example of the type (and yes I have seen it!!).Hope this helps.

Koko, seeing you did so well on the CCA you would have been fine on this one, bit of a drive to do it all but you could have joined for some of it. I’ll keep u in mind when we get any more together. Aslan is right about mixing the bike types up, it was great fun “pitting” oneself against the thumpers.

Thats me Ian.S aka Postie. I thought I had the crossing nailed but had drifted too far to the laft and the correction to the right washed out the front wheel. Picked it up with help from 4Skins, Aslan and Upshift and got out on one cylinder. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ No other damage and it returned to full noise fairly quickly.

Upon checking when home I note that the rear drive oil has SLIGHT water contamination so will change all oils this weekend ready for the trip to the Brass Monkey. 8)

I’d stick one on the billboard. BMW Safari in OZ had their’s in white letters on a Blue background.

    Cheers
