Hmmmm, great photos Dave, the Sportec M3's look good. I think my panniers would be dragging at that angle ๐
in reply to: Rusty Nuts Southern Cross Rally #7660You could fill the Hydropack drink container with fuel ๐ One of our lot carried a 5 litre container, probably slowed him down a bit though. See you and the Cruiser next timeย ๐
in reply to: Scary road riding. #7008Love it all!ย ๐I agree with Dean, start them young and train them well. I also like Bwucies ideas of no rego / warrant, no fuel. The anal retentives in LTSA who continue to try to control peoples behaviour would do well to eradicate traffic lights, stop and give way signs at intersections thereby allowing drivers to engage their brain before pulling out of the drive in the morning and take responsibility for their own actions. I lived in a country where, if you hit someone else the police would apportion blame. 70% to you for screwing up and 30% to the other guy for not trying hard enough to avoid youรย ๐ฟI couldnt buy my ex-wife a 4X4, she would have taken you all out long ago. ๐ I didnt even want to buy her a bicycle!BTW: The thing that scares me most is me, will I pay 100% attention and not screw up today?Current pet hate: Prepay at the pump. Why do gas companies punish us because they are too busy ripping everyone off to put staff on the forecourt?Current pet like: EFTPOS on the pumpรย ๐Current pet love: Night riding.รย ๐

in reply to: R1200 series Final drive oil change #6470Oil is replaced in an engine to remove contaminants introduced in the combustion process and ingested during the sucky cycle. There are no contaminants in a transmission apart from wear materials. I would check the oil level periodically and if it isnt down, indicating a leaking seal or worse, then I wouldnt touch it. Oil does not deteriorate unless external contaminants are introduced. I could see it being of value with a GS or HP where they are pushed hard thru rivers, deep puddles, etc. causing the fluid to cool and contract, drawing moisture into the gearbox.ย ๐
in reply to: touratech big tank #6313how many litres and how far can you go with that?
in reply to: BRONZ Ride to work day #6390but Tharon, isnt 'service' station an oxymoron?
in reply to: Tyres for r1100s? #6367How do you ride Phil? Are youรย bit ofรย a hoon or a little reserved? Do you ride a lot in the rain? Do you want a 'sport' ot 'touring' tyre? (I have to ask, you've seen these old geezers with Z4's who dont go out in the rain and only go to the corner dairy for a packet of fags!) Are you a '1000 miler' or a 'cafe racer'? (I have a mate who owns a 'Duc' ST4 that's done 300km in 9 months! Silly prick talks about tyre wear…..he also complains his bike uses 17 litres / 100km of fuel!!!! The stuff probably evaporates between rides!)ย ๐

in reply to: BMWOR website sticker #5859I’m with you Kokopelli, your call as it was your idea ๐
in reply to: BMWOR website sticker #5856Maybe Regalia should hold them and sell them?
in reply to: Intercom system advice #5888Had that noise on the RT last week, interfering with the radio. When I replaced the left hand plug it went away. From your description of “throttle on” and throttle off” I suspect it is a different fault.
in reply to: BMWOR website sticker #5849I think it would be good to keep them simple at the moment and maybe make a roundel later that we can add if we want, easy with a transfer.
Middle black and middle white look good to me. I will replace Henry's one. -
