Probably down through Marakopa -> Awakino. I have limited knowledge of the area down there, so your local knowledge would be very much welcome. If you have suggestion, let us know.See you at the rally.

last I heard the Old Whanga Rd was closed by a large slip. Havent heard of it reopening yet. May pay to check it out.I went in from the Whanga end a month ago and got thru both Tunnels but after spending 3/4 of an hour digging a german machine out of a bog hole turned back at the next bog!!

Thanks for that info. I hope January will be dry and keep the bog to a minimum. Hopefully the locals will at least make an ATV track past the slip. If not, there should be other roads there for a bit of fun.

That's not much of a chore is it? Any excuse to ride!. I am thinking of riding down to Whangamomona to do the Old Whangamomona Rd and the Fischer track some time late January. Are you interested?

Sounds like it is his company vehicle. We still don;t know if it was a one of bang, or the final bang.

Sorry to hear it's an ongoing problem. The only other thing I can think of is to clean the battery terminals, by undoing them and then sanding the connection lightly. I hope you'll find the cause soon.

Well, that's pretty much beyond me :-). So did the bike run again after this? Maybe you got some bad fuel.

Hmmm, it means there is a problem :-D. Have you checked if both throttle cables are correctly in the housing by the throttle body? Spark plug missing or incorrectly installed? Oil filler cap missing? It's be something really simple and stupid. The sort of thing that happens to me all the time. Some one once said, that if you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras, unless of course you're in Africa. I always think zebras myself :-).

He does look pretty miserable. Hope he heals well. Also hope I am not around when he finally farts :-D. I hear there is an outside chance he might make it to the annual rally in a car. That might take his mind off things, after all it used to be a sanatorium. Do you know where his bike is parked. I am sure he'd love some original front brakes, in exchange for his non-original set up.

Check out this tradme ad. It's for an Arrow silencer that may fit your bike.http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Parts-for-sale/Exhaust/auction-193758858.htm

If it's not broken you've got time. I would keep an eye out on trademe. Occasionally exhausts and Y-pipes pop up for sale. People tend to sell them separately to their bike. A Y-pipe in stainless usually costs around the $400 mark, plus whatever the silencer costs. On the 1150 the collector box seems to be doing most of the silencing. If that's the case on your bike, you could just get the Y-pipe and use the stock silencer.I am surprised that your bike does not have a cat, I thought they were a standard item.

Mike,It could be the wire leading to your ignition. To test it, turn the engine on and then move the handle bars from side to side. Of course, if it cut out while riding in a straight line, then that's less likely to be the cause. If it is the ignition wire, it can be repaired or replaced. I've got a spare that's waiting for the repair to fail :-).

Just turn up and leave when you want to. Various people will organize rides in the area. We're expecting close to 90 people at the event. There will be plenty to talk about, lot's of bikes to look at. It's possible that alcohol might play a part as well, seeing that the place is a winery. I am sure they'd love to get some feedback on their vintages.See you there.

In! I am sure it would still be classed as a private road by then? You have a 100 close mates? I am impressed! I know that Dean has been looking forward to this event. If you want, we can put it on the rides calendar and make the attendance compulsory :-D.
