Thanks for all the responses, they are most helpful. We will have to get in some quotes now. The walls in the old part of the house aren't insulated, but the ceilings and floors are. However, it is still a couple of degrees cooler than the newer extension. We'll see how a heat pump copes with this.

Is there any other way to open a garage door?Ā  šŸ˜€

True, but you get two and he also sells a 31 litre size. Most people carry way too much stuff.

It was more the unit tilting than reading it that is the problem but I will check out TE Thanks

Mine is only an el cheapo version. If you have a close look you can see that it wasn't designed to go onto a thin rail like that. To make up the difference I wrapped a bit of rubber around it secured by duct tape. This has successfully stopped it from slipping and it also provides a degree of insulation from vibration. A zip-tie was added for piece of mind :-). Initially it was intended as a temporary solution. But since it's survived that last ride with flying colours I will keep it on for a while longer.

I don't think you can completely avoid the vibrations, and having a small screen is probably not much help either. I took this set up trough a couple of hundred km on gravel roads and through the 42nd traverse. It has held up well. $25 from trademe. GPSmount.jpgGenerally you should only have to check the GPS only when you come to an intersection, for those I tend to slow down anyway.

Great report Garry. I am sure someone will fill in the gaps. I only took a couple of pictures, but the only good one I have was from my ride to Otorohanga, taking some back roads. I have plenty of respect for the achievements of micawberism, haggis and Aslan, even though I think they're mad to take their bikes through such terrain. I've got a bit of a limp from arsing off on the last clay hill, but I had heaps of fun scooting through the traverse on my 'light-weight' R80GS. Coming from the Kapoors road end made the terrain strangely unfamiliar. I had completely forgotten about that last hill, because it was a down hill last time. By the time I clicked that it was just wet clay, it was too late. At least the R80 was light enough for me to turn around, hop back on and get it going again, well until I got stuck and needed a push. I suppose the T63's aren't that good om clay, maybe the karoo would have done better.DSC00163.jpg

The bleed valve comes out at the right side of the bike. It's inside that black foam cylinder. You'll need to remove the screw that's in there and replace it with a suitable bleed nipple. IĀ  am not sure if one from a brake caliper would fit.

Hi Haggis,I've booked a cabin here:OTOROHANGA HOLIDAY PARKhttp://www.kiwiholidaypark.co.nzbillie@kiwiholidaypark.co.nzI have thought about the departure time a bit more, and I will probably try to get there before dark. I don't like riding at night, especially not on knobbies with the potential of rain. I will ring you tomorrow to confirm.Alex

I found that during the initial loading the player window appears in a smaller size for a second or two. If you then quickly click on the stop loading button the window will remain in that size for the duration of the clip. It's still pixelated, but it's a lot easier on the eyes.I only recognized Herbert Scheck amongst the riders. Then again, it's hard to miss a guy of his height. I wish I could ride like that for more than a few meters :-).

Look a load of fun. The bikes even sounded like the HP2

True, when I heard it for the first time I thought that I must do something to make the R80GS sound like that. I think that collector box will have to go.
