in reply to: Accessory plugs for the "new" K’s & R’s: #12704
Got it all sorted. Now the GPS and the two-way radio can be powered off the bike, at the same time. I had to modify the radio as it didn't have an external power input. All the ugly big plugs fit into the little pouch I have on the handle bars. Now I have to remember to unplug the system end the end of the ride, as there are a couple of diodes that are still powered with the GPS and radio switched off. I am pretty sure they wouldn't be able to drain the battery over night. I can still use the two-way rdio with batteries, if needed.

in reply to: Roof of Africa Chris Birch is in the lead #13241Looks like you've found a bit of mud :-). Was it a trail ride or an Enduro race?

in reply to: Webb Auction at Deus #13187They could have a bit of ambiance like this 🙂
in reply to: Anyone we know? (sideswipe) #13233Well, we can't see the jandals for a start. But you are probably right about it being a set up. I have seen BMW riders wearing jandals before while riding, but they also had shorts to go with it. This guy obviously has no style, blue jacket and a yellow helmet? Must have been Nick Smith submitting it.
in reply to: This from the UK. #13229You're no longer in the UK Jim, this is New Zealand :-). It will at least take another two years before this brilliant idea will catch on over here, longer if they keep an eye on spending for overseas trips :-).
This works for me :-), but I am a little worried about my cape getting caught up on the rear wheel.
in reply to: Webb Auction at Deus #13184I went and had a look this afternoon. It's an interesting place. You guys have been pretty hard on the bikes. That 90S was hard to fault. The prices they are asking don't come into it, it will be worth what people are prepared to pay for it. Most of them will end up being ornaments anyway. The concept of the shop is good, even though they seem to be specializing in poser items. Experience could probably learn a few things from them. There is no reason why anyone would want to hang out at Experience, it has a cold, hard ambiance with little room to walk around the bikes. To attract people you'll need to give them a reason to go there, without getting the feeling that you are just taking up space.
in reply to: 2009 South Island RAG Rally #13166Thanks for the report, Garry. I wish I'd have more time to ride to exotic location. Aslan, two bikes are easily justified, it'll just get harder to pay for them.
in reply to: Elka Shocks #13147The compression adjustment screw is only really accessible (front and back) with the shock removed but that is more of a one off adjustment depending on the type of use road, track days, jeep tracks etc.
It would be, if you have to take the shock out to adjust it. I can adjust mine while riding, and two click off the compression makes a huge difference when moving onto gravel.
in reply to: Elka Shocks #13145No doubt about it, but have you priced two shocks ,with external pre-load and 2 way adjustment, for an 1150 from him?
