Excellent, this should be fun. I am looking forward to it already.
in reply to: Motu Rd tame Adventure ride September 25 & 26 #14113Ok, the ride is now officially on the market, any more bidders?
in reply to: Motu Rd tame Adventure ride September 25 & 26 #14111The dates are in the heading, but here they are again 25th and 26th of September, hope this suits. I was hoping you would be interested.
in reply to: Motu Rd tame Adventure ride September 25 & 26 #14108Good point, I had it in the title, but then changed my mind and was going to make it negotiable. By then of course I forgot. Altzheimers, I guess. Anyway, I suggest the 25th and the 26th of September. Could also be done the following weekend. Mrs Koko might stay at home for this one. It's a reasonable distance, so we'll have to keep moving on the gravel.
in reply to: Motu Rd tame Adventure ride September 25 & 26 #14106Day light savings kicks in the same weekend. I guess we'd leave 8 am to make there before dark. I am not worried about snoring, as long as I have plenty of ear plugs.
in reply to: Motu Rd tame Adventure ride September 25 & 26 #14104I am open to suggestions. Why don't you come along for the ride? You know your way around there better than I do.
in reply to: Motu Rd tame Adventure ride September 25 & 26 #14102Hi Aslan, hope all is well. I am not familiar with the Minginui Forest section. Is that the road out to the old town ship?
in reply to: push rod tubes #14003Welcome to the forum Homer. None of us are BMW people either. We just ride them because we like the bikes :-). Heck, I don't even like boxer shorts. This forum is paid for by the members of the BMWOR, so we have a responsibility to them as far as content goes. It shouldn't be too hard to keep it family friendly.Changing the push-rod seals is not hard, takes probably about two hours per side. Just make sure you read up on the procedure and have all the parts handy. You'll need to take the heads off and the barrels. It's a good time to get rid of any carbon accumulation in there as well. All the parts are readily available and can be bought locally or if you want to save a little, from overseas.
in reply to: Airheads, lots of them! #14078Don't have any more of the mini R, but here is one of the 1200 from the other side
in reply to: Great Dessert Co Lunch, Westgate 1030, Sun 01 Aug #13931It's been a while since I took part in a ride. Thanks for the good company. The rain didn't matter. I've just re-enlisted and I am a fully paid up member of the BMWOR again.
The make larger icecreams up north :-). The challenge won't be complete unless you've been to the dairy in Te Kao.
If it's your first airhead, chances are that what you are hearing is perfectly normal. They sound broken even if they are running well. Get someone who knows airheads to listen to it. Oh, and welcome o the forum and congrats to the “new” bike.By the way, as you've found out, there are plenty of idiots out there. Yesterday a bus tried to push me into the next lane during busy traffic. He pulled up alongside me and started to move over. All this in well flowing traffic. The lane next to me was full, so I had to stay where I was. He got so close, I banged on his window with my fist. No reaction from the driver, he kept staring straight ahead and ignored me. Eventually he pulled in behind me.
in reply to: Input shaft and clutch spline damage #13698What what it's worth, and I don't want to jinx anything, my bike has done 130000km with out a spline lube. Knock on wood, there have been no problems shifting gears. I guess I'll get it lubed when the clutch needs to be done.
in reply to: Can’t describe this – watch and learn. #14055It's a spoof. She's not even such a good actor.
