in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5320When I started this thread I had visions of turning the photos into a book. Unfortunately, most of the ones I took have a very low resolution. However, now that a humble phone has some real pixel power it would be worth revisiting some of those buildings. The other mistake I made was not to record the location. Most of these places will be lost for ever in a few years, so it would be a worthwhile activity to photograph them. It would also be neat to have a little bit of a story to go with each one. This could be a great hobby for a retired motorcyclist. Since I've had a change of scenery, I will have to start reviving this thread. There is a great bunch of buildings on Tuamarina Rd that I want to photograph, but they are just a little bit too far away from the road.

in reply to: For those who know Greg Watts #17972Thanks Darryl, I haven't even visited Richard yet. Ranui is a bit closer, so I'll make an effort, as soon as I can find a bit of time.

in reply to: Bee-ems are hot #17890That will buff right out, with a bit of Jif and elbow grease. He must have been in "hot" pursuit.
in reply to: A face from the past #17855I don't have a memory, Aslan. Gerda recognized him immediately. :-).
in reply to: Brake Rotors for 2010 R1200GSA #17804Gerda's bike had new discs fitted under warranty. I don't know what it is that causes the warping. Do other makes have the same problem?Â
in reply to: Brake Rotors for 2010 R1200GSA #17801Steptoe has a good reputation. I've bought one set of the BMW pads, the last two were EBC at well under half the price.Mine are also warped, below spec and pulsing nicely. I've bought a good second hand set and will fit it once the pads wear a bit more. The warping is only a problem at low speeds and the bike still stops well. I don't think I can leave them on until 200000km.
