in reply to: Getting one back on ACC #15069
Well done. That will teach them. I still think people didn't come, because they didn't want their bikes turned into scooters, after having had a cup of coffee. I guess they can now afford to give away stuff, considering the income they generate.
in reply to: Waipu Pizza Barn for Lunch, 10 Apr 11 #14834Wow, what a turn out. Great photo Bwucie. It was good to be on a ride again. The Pizzas were very good and filling.

since ya a westie now dont forget the dress code. 2 pairs of jeans, no undies
It's the northwest, you're allowed undies, as long as you don't change them too often.

in reply to: Waipu Pizza Barn for Lunch, 10 Apr 11 #14825Will you guys come through Waimauku?
in reply to: Unregistered cars to attract demerit points #15007Have a look over on the Kiwibiker forum. This has stirred up a storm./quote]It's a storm in a tea cup here :-). I am assuming that even though the headlines doesn't mention bikes, that it would apply to all registered vehicles. Maybe that bit hasn't sunk in yet?
in reply to: Unregistered cars to attract demerit points #15005Yep, I agree with you. ACC is fundrasing. I pay bike registration. So ACC is getting its fair share. Red light runners should get the same penalties as people who do more than 40km/h over the speed limit. I am not worried if they are not wearing a set belt, but I do like to have some confidence in my green light. The North Shore could be a gold mine when it comes to red light running. Heck, they even come the wrong way around a roundabout, because they can't wait their turn. Believe me, that's an interesting experience when you're on a bike.
in reply to: Ride to Work – Northcote Auckland 13/4/2011 #15002We have moved to Waimauku. So I no longer cross the the Harbour Bridge, only the Upper Harbour Bridge. Once we've settled in the new house, we should be able to come on rides again. With a bit of luck we'll be at the Pizza Barn on Sunday.
in reply to: Ride to Work – Northcote Auckland 13/4/2011 #15000I don't quite get the poster. Will my motorcycle turn into a scooter after drinking coffee there? 😮 ;D Unfortunately, it's too far the wrong way for me. You can eat my share as well, Malcolm.
Car version would have to be an indoor unit - no rain!
Hi Dave, just found this little beauty which I think would do the trick perfectly 😀It's designed just for holding an in car unit and is fully waterproof with an inlet for the cable. Straps on to the handle bar. Not sure what stops it from rotating so will make some enquiries.
I don't think you'll need to worry about it wanting to rotate. I have a handle bar bag, so I have one more pocket to search. It has never rotated once, without my permission. Seriously, it will be fine.
in reply to: Can Am Spyder #14973I must admit that I don't get the Spyder thing, nor the trikes for that matter. If it comes to that, I'd much rather drive a nice convertible.
in reply to: What’s yours called #14693::) ;D
in reply to: What’s yours called #14691I call my R1150GS,…….wait for it…..G S. Sometimes I call it the black GS, because I also have a white GS. The white GS sometimes gets called the R80. Mostly I refer to either one as “my bike”.
in reply to: Opinions Sought – 1150GS or 1150RT #14956There is a lot of Tupperware on an RT. All that stuff needs to be taken off for service and if the thing tips over on anything but a flat surface, there will be carnage. But hey, what do I know, I don't ride on at work, I am just good at dropping stuff.
