You are right, there should be cheaper insurance for guys who keep their bike parked inthe garage. You should put your case to JB.

in reply to: Valve covers #5759

we are thinking along the lines of that. We are looking at using the mounting points that are currently used for the plastic spark plug cover. They seem a lot more substantial than what is being used at the moment.
    Thanks for your input.

    Thank you for your reply.
The pupose of the exercise is that the student can gain Level 3 Technology Achievement Standards. I do believe that we can improve on what is available now. If the student can come up with a viable design it could be produced and sold. I will get him to post on this forum directly in order to get some feedback from members.

I don't think cooling is much of an issue, as the heads are oil cooled and do not seem to get extremely hot. BMW's new guards seem to cover most of it anyway. However, I think they could have done better. As there are many more 1150 engines around the student will focus on those.

We would really appreciate as much support as we can get.

Leather might be ok for now, but soon you’ll be expected to use a Goretex filter.

I while ago they were offering tests like this in Auckland. You could drive past to get a reading of your exhaust. I am all for emission controls. But let’s start with the city buses, and then work our way down to motorcycles.

I had forgotton that I took this one :-). Thanks, I am very proud of my pretty red bungy cords. Got them in Blenheim. The black ones are still on the ferry.

I’ve used Tourances and TKC80 nothing else so far. I am completely happy with either set. TKC80 are a bit squirrly at first, but soon settle in. Maybe you had a bad front tire, or it hadn’t seated properly. Good luck with your search.

Yes it was quite a sight, Garry. I wonder if anyone has done the maths of how long the que would have been using cars or 4x4s.

    Hi Tony,
nice report, bummer about the ending. Welcome to the tib/fib stryker rod club. If you need to know anything just ask. Did ya get titanium or SS?
mybrokenleg.com has some useful info. Don't want to burst your bubble, but 6 weeks back to normal is a bit optimistic. 18 month down the track the first few steps out of bed are still painful. Let me know when you're ready for a cane, you can have mine :-).

I've read somewhere that putting your leg down on a bike like the GS is the quckest way to an inury. and I've got to agree with that. Did my knee in on the CX without coming of. Agrevated my hamstring on the GS which I had previously done in on the GS on a bit of slippery grass. So now I try to keep my legs on the pegs.

    Get well soon.
