in reply to: Insurance excess payments after crash #16711
I've shifted to Classic Cover, it was over $300 cheaper than JB. Never had a claim on my bike insurance.
in reply to: Are BMWs really this good? #16704yes and no
in reply to: The Cullingworth Concept, contd. #16646Congratulations Bwucie, that's a fine looking bike. I am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Thank you for the report, looks like you guys had a great time. Who owns the nice looking Airhead parked near the front? I'd be keen to see more pictures of that.
in reply to: Right hand drive headlight adjustment? #16663Swapping the handle bars to the other side is not cheap either. 🙂
in reply to: Airhead GS and G/S only ride to Mahia April 21/22 #16418Last bump for the ride. If you have an airhead GS you should really be there.
in reply to: New Newsletter #16532Alternating the location of the AGM would be a fair move. Having it in Palmerston North deprives the Wellingtonians of a good ride and they might not want to turn up for the AGM.
in reply to: BMWOR Executive being paid #16547I think that's fair enough to help out the Executive on register business. Some time ago I suggested that ride leaders get a little bit of support for leading rides. I do think that this is more important than paying the Executive for attending the AGM. Paying for the ferry for South Island reps is probably also appropriate. On the other hand, where do you stop?
in reply to: New Newsletter #16526I prefer Taupo myself. Palmerston North has marginally more going for it than Palmerston. Plus the new destination deprives Wellingtonians a few extra k's of riding. However, whether I not attend the Taupo one or the Palmerston North one makes very little difference :-[. I must apologize for missing the RAG, though, I was looking forward to that. The next Rally at National Park is also pretty cool. That's worth taking the Airhead down for.
in reply to: How many Kms do you do? #16536In the car maybe a 1000, if that. On the bikes it's been about 20000km a year for the last 9 years.
in reply to: Airhead GS & G/S only ride #16395*Bump* this is still happening. I'll be leaving Auckland on the Friday to catch up with Mr Bell in Fog City. We'll do the Motu and then see how far we'll get. On Sunday I'll be heading back to Auckland. The weather will be fine and mild.
in reply to: Hyperpro Shocks/Springs has anyone used them? #16446I bought a basic shock with only preload adjustment. I found a price for an F800GS shock and that works out to NZD 716 plus freight. It's the type 640 with compression adjustment and manual preload. This should give you an idea. Freight is about $45 Euros. Oh, deduct 19% from the shock price I forgot about the German tax, which you wouldn't be paying.http://www.ebay.de/itm/Wilbers-Federbein-BMW-F-800-GS-08-/260514085554?pt=Motorrad_Kraftradteile&hash=item3ca7d97ab2#ht_1129wt_698
in reply to: Hyperpro Shocks/Springs has anyone used them? #16444http://www.gs-parts.de/ Roger Herwig could do you a good deal on Wilbers shocks. I just bought a shock off him. Alternatively, you could try having your shocks rebuilt by Watson racing in Kumeu. He has serviced my Elka shocks for me. Your springs should be fine. They don't wear out at 50000km. Roger now knows about the GST threshold.
in reply to: NEW HOME PAGE #16428Yep, that's it Alex, 8 cents extra per copy of the newsletter has broken the bank(/quote ]I could see that coming ;D
