Yep, I don't think you can go very far wrong anywhere in NZ, well, Murupara would be marginal :-), but the hunting is good down there. Maybe I am just not a Murupara person. While I love most places, I struggle when it's cold or excessively windy, or when the Latte is not quite right. :-
I would not bag Murapara. Ya might get a visit from the black power or mongrel mob. That's if they ant all run each other over.
in reply to: Wellington Accom for 2, 21 Sep – 1 Oct. #17008yeah I gotta agree with ya Malcie. You don't know how good Auckland is until ya shift out of. First weekend away on the Friday Alison rang me as she was still living up their. She said you coming back for the weekend, I replied ”like f#@k, you can come down here"I even hate driving thru it to go north that's enough to put me off. you really don't realise how bad it is until you leave. best thing about Auckland is seeing it in the rear vision mirror.

in reply to: Terry’s letter to the editor #16946I need a special emoticon to indicate tongue-firmly-in-cheek.'Twas just a momentary attempt at humour, Alex, while I battled to get the server to deliver a dump of the Forum database to my desktop: we have so much stored in it now it's quite tetchy about letting me download backups. Gotta do something to ease the tension while I'm panicking.
Can you delete some of the older stuff? I am pretty sure that only about 90% of my posts are worth saving, compared to about 10% of Steve B's posts. 😉
only 5 of mine worth saving
