    I would suggest Port Waikato to Te Akau warf. You could include Klondyke road. Pick a fine day, the scenery is stunning. Oh, might pay to put on some TKC80 if you are planning to do more of this.

    speaking of WOF's. Couple of years back I took me scooter for a warrant. He failed it on the grounds that I had a white light facing to the rear. This so called white light was the white Diamond grade reflective tape I had put on rear mudguard which is white as real bmw's have  tendency to blow the rear tail light bulb after ya spent a while on the gravel.I asked him to show me how this hwite light was powered and how to turn it on. I informed him that I did not think that reflective tape fell into the definition of a light.the twat had to concede. :mrgreen:

    I just did the annual service on the 1150 and fitted SS brake lines. Changed the clutch fluid as well. Took me about three hours all up, but my time was free :-). I actually enjoyed working on the bike. I also got to try out my Teng torque wrench :-). The 60000 will be done in a couple of weeks, a bit early but I'll have time then.

    have you got the "low vehicle volume modification cert " for your next warrant of fitness. Ya just can't go around chucking stuff on your bike that makes it unsafe for other road users. I shall ring the testing station and inform them what you have done. safe motoring

    Hi AllI received this at work today.Subject: Motorcycle Training Courses   Good Morning All,   Thought I would let you know the dates of the Motorcycle Skills Courses we have part funded (in partnership with Regional Road Safety (Maureen Bishop)) as a way to help address the rising number of injuries as a result of motorcycle crashes. Injuries from motorcycle crashes contribute to 18% of ACC motor-vehicle claims, when representing only 2% of vehicles on the road. From looking at the data, there seems to be a need for skills in both the urban and open road environments which the subsidised training is trying address.   If you come across motorcyclists you feel would benefit from up-skilling themselves through the course of your work, please feel free to put them in touch with Mainland Driving School (contact details on the flyer attached). We are trying to reach those who would not normally attend a course, especially those returning to riding after a long break (the born-agains).     what i would like to know is how that stats are collected. Is this (A) road bike only crashes or do these stats alsol include (1)weekend riders of chookchasers - MX bikes and also (2) farm bike accidents. Keen to know as I suspect that I may be unduly subsidizing all those people in (1) & (2)could you ask as waiting with baited breath.

    I've got a bit of titanium in my tibia, thanks to an unswept intersection and a lapse of inattention.On our last ride there was some work done behind a blind bend. They had as sign up 20m from where they were working. Of course you couldn't see it until you came around the bend.Must have been lazy or stupid or both.

    no grave on intersection. drop off in road and very inexperienced rider who just wanted a ride in a choppa :mrgreen:

    I loved the cone work. Be in front and watch them all putting feet down was hilirious.and re the revenuing collecting, I have said b4 its a " stupidity tax" so please do not get the two mixed up.  :mrgreen:

    I've only just realized what the problem was. I thought you had cracked the lever. On closer inspection I can now see the snapped off shaft in the lever clamp.This should be a warranty claim. A shaft should not be the weakest part in the assembly, surely the lever should be the sacrificial item. It will be interesting what BMW does.Alex

    geez i would hate to agree with Koko but I am gunna have to. The shaft broke, thats bullshit, the lever should of first.

    Wait for it, wait for it..............................YEAH RIGHT.I'm not going to spend the next few months reading reviews of stuff like a gravel bash and waiting until it's my turn.I have ridden an F650 Dakar, and I know it isn't a beast. But then, the speed limit is 100, and it will do that all day.Anywhere I can go on my F800 I can go in my car too, so it almost certainly (money allowing) means I'll be on a Dakar sooner or later.Especially given the pics I just saw of the cool ride some of you did up near Wellington, Capital Coast something or other. 😮Love the pics. Just struggling to get over having chosen a bike which is awesome but doesn't do the stuff I am hanging out to do.Sigh.

    just think when ya get over the GS stuff its HD or Goldwing time  👿 👿 👿 👿

    I have an F800ST. It's very cool, and I love riding it.Sadly, I spend too much time reading about how cool it is to go off road. I rode an F650 Dakar before I bought the 800, but went for the road bike anyway.Now I don't know what to do, as there is a really nice wee Dakar calling me from the local dealer. It's a year older than my 800, but it could do a lot more stuff.I also just finished watching Charley and Ewan ride through Africa, and that didn't help !!Any of your thoughts are welcome. 😕

    PeteI would wait for the F800GS to come out.the dakar may be a little bit small for you. That single cylinder screaming all the time may get on ya wick. even my piggy old 1000cc boxer twin has so many advantages over that 50HP single.
