in reply to: Dakar front wheel rim #10291I took a R100 GS rim to a member of the Vintage bike club here in Hamilton. It was really buckled. The GS rims can not be straightened due to having the spokes on the outside. Cambridge outfit above agreed could not fix. Anyone the vintage bike club member whom specializes in fixing rims re drilled the rim so it was like normal bike and put new spokes in. The thing was straight as straight but you had to use a tube. The tools and skills and skills he has are amazing. He also makes wooden rims for cars.I a currently considering taking my GS rims to him and getting him to lace up new black rims with pretty stainless spkes to make the bike more asthically appealing.can get contact details if you want as I suspect he would be your best bet.
