Hi,Has anyone tried to remove or got experiance in removing the muffler and collector box from an R850R or R1150R ? I tried to remove mine, but there are two tabs welded on to the front part of the collector box, that are fastened by two allen head screws that I cannot move?I undid the two captive nuts, but try and screww out the allen head screw and it seems impossible - are mine just tight or am I doing something wrong?I have undone the two clamps from the exhaust pipes and the one by the footpeg that holds the muffler, but these two tabs have to be undone to get the exhust off.Appreciate any help.

The results of an international BMW Club survey undertaken from July last year were made known to us at the Council meeting in Vancouver. The good news from the survey is that 96% of respondents were super enthusiastic about belonging to their respective organisations. The not so good news is that the sample size of 2.8% in not large enough to validate this survey. Only 8% of BMW club members in Australasia completed the survey, 223 from Australia and 21 from New Zealand. As the BMWOR is a member club we ought to see if we can do a bit better than this. To participate in the BMW Club survey give yourself 15 minutes and go to http://www.psyma-surveys.com/uc/bmwclubs/  The survey will be open until November 30th, 2008.There’s a question relating to the number of “automobiles” you currently own. I took this to mean both cars and bikes together, but “automobiles” appears to relate only to the number of cars you own, so I had to go back and amend my answers. There is a separate series of questions on the number of motorcycles owned that follows this. Other than that the survey was very straight forward. The important thing to remember is that BMW Classics provides a significant amount of funding for the retention of Clubs International and local BMW Groups provide a great deal of support for their clubs, such as BMW NZ continue to provide us. A valid survey will be enormously helpful in convincing the decision makers at BMW AG that we’re worthy ambassadors of that support.CheersGarry

Experience is good, but BMW is rubbish. I'm still waiting for my replacement front suspension now coming up to 7 months. It want be long and I'll be asking for a replacement bike as this seems the only way I will get the up graded front suspension. I'm taking the bike down to the South Island in 6 weeks for the Hamner adventure ride

and this from bmw's best new zealands customer. time ti trade up to a lifan dean
