Turned out to be a good ride, with only a few showers. I really liked the food. Turns out they're into organic stuff. That bacon clearly came from a happy pig. Got quite a bit of gravel in on the return trio. Kaipara Hills, Old Kaipara Rd, Welch Access, Burnside, Makarau and one I forgot. The Shinko is hooking up nicely.Came across and accident on Old North road. A cruiser rider didn't make a corner by the looks of it. Looked a bit pale around the gills. I hope he was alright, there were plenty people there already. The bikes are filthy, again! The last wash was a waste of time. Next ride to Puhoi will see them get dirty again.
thats why i don't wash mine

Acknowledging the source of the posted material would also be a common courtesy. Even if it's a BMW press release.

i have the big touratech aluminium jobbies. if i had my choice again it would be http://www.andystrapz.com/products.php?PCID=51 Alex has a set. yeah they don't lock but good price and expandable and should you drop bike no big deal. I don't like top boxs as they put weight to far back and up high. I use an expandable roll bag. 35 l to 70 l. Got from Siebenrock but they dont seem to sell any more. Have a brand new touratech one sitting here. http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/show.lasso?SKU=055-0095&-session=touratech:DB5939C5115c53465FsTM125AEDDOther option is tank panniers. They move weight forward and make a nice wind break. Mine are made from 15 litre a side gearsck throwover bags modified. If i go away by myself i usually just take tank panniers - tank bag and roll bag on rear. if my wife comes we load the horse up. Needs her dressing gown

in reply to: Heat-pumps ? #12332If you haven't already committed to an installation Alex this might be worth a look:http://www.dvs.co.nz/index.php/pi_pageid/162?gclid=CPXileOXmpsCFQk_agodvGuxBgNot sure of the fine print but could save you a few dollars for gas.Malcolm
hey Malcie. Alex and I have previously talked about these. I have a Smartvent system which is similiar to DVS and in the winterless Waikato is great. 12 degrees here in the Waikato today and ceiling cavity peaked at 22c heating the rest of house to this temp. Used to come home to a cold house and now 22c. It is great. Less Moisture etc They are also installing them in new houses to as a standard feature from some home building companies. generation homes etcAlex has a tile roof and we are unsure on what the heat build-up is like in roof cavity compared with my tin roof. ????????
