Terry, since my original post I've attacked my exhaust system which I now think is Stainless not Chrome.  Magnet won't look at it so pretty sure.  I started with fine steel wool and lot's of elbow grease but gave up when told about the risk of leaving the stuff there and getting more problems than I started with.  Since then I got some 220/400/600 grit sanding discs and went at it progessively until they looked reasonable then ended up buffing with Autosol and an old piece of  towel wound around the pipe.  It has come up a treat, if you look closely you can see the pitting in the steel but I'm happy.  Give it a go.

Another one of Rob's - he was led there by the much travelled Arne, so he should be able to find it for us.  This place looked very flash on "Country Calendar", so it should be worth a shufti.Leaving Papakura at 0930.  The weather could be doubtful, but if so why not ring around and sort out a car pool and come for lunch anyway?  It'll get you out of the house.

what ever happened to "real men Brucie"anotehr great cafe is on Newell Road just sth of Hamilton out towards Airport. Its called "Punnet" The food and service is great. Courtyard and inside area. In the summer they also sell strawberries. Unsure where they got there name from.
