in reply to: OFF ROAD ADVENTURE COACHING #12462
I'm keen for some training.. alot of stuff we learn along the way from our own mistakes. The better and more confident I can be when riding a GS, and loaded up, off the beaten track the better the rider I should be on the seal.
in reply to: Motorcycle: Submission To The Government #12778That make some interesting reading. Will sit down and have a serious look at it.
in reply to: Wellington City Bike Parking….here we go again….. #12642I just wish with all of the parking for motorcycles that Wellington has, how is it that each time I head into town that I have to block cars in motorcycle parks… or is it that I'm looking for cars to block in.
in reply to: Touring in Europe #12519Hey,Tried to link my same stuff in... have a look back about 2-3 pages back and you will see a few of the comments.Have a good look around and ask the AA, they can put you onto the right people as well. I found that it was going to be better to take our own bikes into Europe, cost when selling and re-buying etc once in the UK.. It was working out cheaper for the bikes to go over than what it is going to be for us.Ask around, the advice I got was at least you know the bike, how it runs and anything else ublike when you pick up another bike and go.Enjoy, if you're around Wellington pop in.Dave
Thanks,Think I will just put the tent poles on the outside of the boxes.. they just wont fit in.I'm also looking at getting a set of Hepco/Becker Aluim boxes at some stage. At least that way I can squash a bit more in and also have flat sides and corners instead of the Givi. The price ex Aus seems to be good.
in reply to: Riding Gear #10076Just got the riding gear sorted, zip put on the riding trou and jacket..and new velcov Now all i need is a chance to test it all.
in reply to: R1100R ABS #12218I've had it a few times with the light flashing alternatively on my GS… switch the ignition off then back on and for me 99% of the time the ABS with sort itself out once started. This has also happened to me with the battery in good condition....
in reply to: European Trip Planning #11889Thank you, we have made the first step towards getting ready for the trip..That right, have just picked a bike up for my wife who would like us both to ride around Europe.

in reply to: R1200GS battery #11615I'm using a battery tender supplied through Motorad in Welly. Seems to be working fine plugged in through the bike.. not sure if this is a good option.
in reply to: Summer road conditions. #11391I found the same type of stuff on the Taupo to Rotorua Road last night. Lots of smooth seal… at least when heading back to Waiberia it was cost so could trust the road a whole lot more. And remember to watch out for the friendly fokes putting down the loose chip on that tar to make things a bit more grippy.Dave 😕
in reply to: Helmet suggestions? #11043Have a look at ATV boots.. there are a few more around the place. Even on the Motomail site.Dave
in reply to: Report on ABS brakes #11204Like everything.. can you really put a price on safety??Yes we're on bikes, but every bit helps to keep us riding for many more years. 😀
