Thanks… going with the squealing but works option. Haven't lost any power so no worries as yet.Got my GPS wired up at the same time by Jim... now I don't have to worry about that going flat and not reminding me of my speed.

I wont get into the touring kit too much. Go the Spidi Touring Jacket over ten years ago and is only starting to go now. As it's already been said, you do get what you pay for… most of the time.Grabbed the gumby suit, Revit rain suit, through motomail; this one piece option works well for me and has looked after me during West Coast and desert road rides in the winter. It packs away and fits in my tank bag. (Inexpensive option) Stay dry...and warm.Dave

Our thoughts are with them as well.  :'(It's not just a good time to get out while the weather is good for us. It's time for everyone else to enjoy the roads at well. Be safe to all on two wheels!Dave

Morning all,I was having a look though some of the links on the Canterbury BMW site... is this still being used?? And followed a few of the links to find some rider training.. Dan Ornsby has posted that ACC has subsidized courses for another three years!!!! Should be no excuse to get along now... Every bit helps!Dave http://motorcycletraining.co.nz/acc-subsidized-courses/

I've actually had a good quote from AA insurance… can't change over to them until I get out of Chch.Checked with the car first and found that was a couple of hundred cheaper than State... which I have had very good dealings with. Now just waiting for the move to Wellington in a few months and yes the quote for the bike was cheaper as well. Didn't mention anything about adventure riding though.....  😀

I wonder how many k's this person has been doing? Use to drive armored vehicles.. we called it a "battle fat" due to the vibration through the tracks and hull when driving on the road.... hmm did this guy have knobby tires on his bike? Sure I get a numb bum after 2-3hrs on the bike... get off your bike, have a coffee and stretch!!!All just sounds like he didn't make changes to his bike to suit him and his style of riding.

Have a speedy recovery. We all get to that point on a ride I think where we drop concentration.I ended up listening to the GPS yesterday coming back up from Burt Munro... the beep each time I went over the speed limit and that sexy voice for the turns.
