the Airhead GS's are certainly attracting quite a following.Phreaky Phil of KB community has an especially nice R80GS IMO.I'm just hoping that one day my 1150GS will have the same attraction - in my case I found it too heavy for serious ADV riding and in fact prefer my more nimble DR650 for tricky stuff

nice looking ride Dean – Pampa aka Pablo on KB is an active user of his 650X in ADV rides down here in the South of the North.

useful article thanks Jim – might consider Conti Trail Attacks for my 1150 when the current TKC80's are worn out – cheers Aslan

cheers Alex – look forward to seeing both you and Gerda at the RAG – we had a great ride around our South Coast from Cape Palliser Light to White Rock and into Sutherland's Hut yesterday – both Gerard and Garry were there aboard their oilheads – cheers S

The cabin is booked. All I need now is a bike to do the ride on.

wassup with that lovely Basic Alex? You've got me sussed in one - I'm not a sufficiently confident rider to do the 42nd or Fishers on the 1150 so specially since its not a 1150GSA with the lower first gear - at least one stream exit with a sand trap would be a challenge for me on the 1150 I found it challenging enough on the DR late last year.Look forward to catching up with you and you pals from Auckland - I believe Garry W and K Slider will be bringing their BMWs from Wellington.Cheers Aslan

Alex – you and the lads clearly had fun – I salute all of you who are willing to use your GS's as dual sport bikes.Great pics and nice report as always - good to see Colin aka That looks like fun aka Macawbersim up and about after the swim at the Rally 🙂Malcolm - you're right about Bill Biber - a very skillful rider - I rode the Makairo Track with him and others late last year.cheers Aslan
