I will really need a few more who are willing to order before we can commit to this.
Cheers,

Alex - thanks for attempts to stimulate interest among us - can we have at least one logo that emphasises the dual sport / tour the world aspect of the GS - OK I know I'm biased / one eyed - Cheers Aslan 😉Kokopelli – this ride was Sat AM to Sun PM – event planning appeared under regional forum over on Adventure Rider.
You would have aquitted yourself well I'm sure. Check out the cross Ohakune track that appears in the ride report on ADV. You and other register riders could tie it in with the RAG Rally. (I realise the venue has moved from Ohakune)

Hi Kiwi Adventure and Kokopelli – the fellow with the classic PD is a register member is a pal of mine (I’ve suggested he respond himself). Suffice to say Kokopelli and I enjoyed his company on the recent CCA – organised by the intrepid 4Skins. 😉
For the detctives among you - go to this post http://forum.bmwor.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=73 and see if you can spot the same PD 😀Kokopelli wrote:Thanks for the report, you are a brave man.
😉 thanks Kokopelli - some would say 'stupid' - looking forward to riding with you and other register members who enjoy using the dual sport aspect of the GS.
As Kiwi Adv has remarked elsewhere this is the country of the 'long gravel roads'
Can we have a Dualsport (GS) interest section on this site with links to ADV, UK GSer and others? Thoughts? 🙄
Probably off topic - but for ADV enthusiasts who own a beemer, I believe there's much to be gained by riding with folks whose tastes may be in some of the other marques - makes life interesting.Kiwi Adventure wrote:It great to see. Have fun. 🙂
Be very carefull you don't suck water in through the air filter. Make sure and check you have insurance for this kind of riding.
Thanks - your advice is so true - I was fortunate not to get water in the air intake or final drive 😳

The following are an old woolshed near the bungy jump south of Taihape and the house is on the left as you enter Mangaweka from the North[img]

[img]in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5036I did an dual sport ride this past weekend from Wellington to Ohakune via the Whanganui River Road (yes I know its a favourite of mine) – tooling around Ohakune and returning via Turakina Valley Rd – this little old house is South of Taihape – others I was riding with were bemused at my stopping to photograph old buildings
[img]in reply to: Day Trip to Coromandel #5880I’ve the same dilemma – I like the TKC’s so much and who knows when they’ll find a stretch of backroad where they might be needed
in reply to: New commers to NZ. #5574welcome to Lower Hutt – by your photos and ealier posts I gather you’re a keen dual sport rider.
PM me and perhaps we can arrange to link up with other GS (and riders of other marques) folks who enjoy riding the 'roads less travelled'
cheers Aslan aka Stephen O 😉in reply to: Day Trip to Coromandel #5878nice pics Alex – looks like you’re having fun – great scenery on the Coromandel – I see you’ve got the TKC back on the rear. regards Aslan 😉
thanks Buwcie, Kokopelli and Garry for taking the time to reply.
Alex - I'm inclinded to continue running the TKC80's all the time myself for the confidence they inspire. I managed 6k km on the last rear. I guess you'll be influenceing Gerda in the 'chook chaser' she buys?
Bwucie - the 1100S sounds nice - hope to meet you at some Register event in future.
Garry - glad travel to Hobart was good. Enjoy the next two rides you're going on. My next rides will either be in the Wairarapa (perhaps with you Ian S and David T) and /or the next Central Dist Adv ride when we receive advice of that.
cheers Aslanin reply to: BMWOR website sticker #5836Hi Koko – yes i’d display a sticker like that on my bike – cheers Aslan 😉
