Hi.Interesting combination with the tyres. 😕

Hi Adventure Tharon - I understand your bemusement with the tyre combination. However, it does work. Quite a number of the folk who frequent the Adventure Rider ADV site use this combination on their GS'sHope you're enjoying Dunedin - cheers Aslan  😎

I see over on Kiwi Biker that you had a good ride Scott – good to see you using the F650GS in the rough  🙂

great report as always Garry – glad you folks had a ball. When Pete emailed me about this ride I'd already committed to ride with another pal on his RT KBike – inappropriate for where you guys went. We did a pleasant loop through the Akatarawas to Waikanae and back over the Paekakariki Hill stopping for bacon & eggs at 'Bed Cafe' in Pauatahanui - no pics sorryCatch you all for a ride sometime soon. Cheers S aka Aslan

As always Garry an interesting post – great pics and local info to whet the appetitie of others. Like you I chose not to go to the Foxton Cafe for lunch – different strokes for different folks. Went across the Pram Track with BusaJim on his 1150ADV and Tim of British Motorcyle spares aboard his Trumphy Scrambler with his daughter riding pillion.I should quickly add I was riding the littele DR350 feeling very cocky until I had the front wash out in deep clay whislt ascending to the summit of the PRAM. Pablo was there on your former Dakar which he handled with aplomb!Great bunch of guys - like you a great Sunday  😀Here's a link to the ride over on KiwiBiker http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=53177

Scott – I can only echo Garry's sentiments – I run TKC80's all the time on my 1150GS, as I did on my Dakar when I had it – they're a great tyre for adventure / gravel riding – cheers S

Tharon – R69S get's my vote – hope you're enjoying Otago – cheers Aslan  :mrgreen:It was one of these Earles fork machines that began my irrational love affair with BMWs whilst living in Dunedin in my youth over 40 years ago.
