in reply to: T-Shirt Design Suggestion #5929Design looks great. Would be interested to see costings etc. The more ideas the better – that way we can cater to many different tastes and budgets. Currently working through a few designs and costings for shirts, jackets, caps etc. Hopefully we will have items to show at the next meeting.
in reply to: Pokaka 2006 R.A.G. Rally #5793A picture paints a thousand words and I am a man of few words but here are some more.
About 40 people attended from Northland, New Plymouth, Tauranga, Te Puke, Stratford, Napier, Waikato and Auckland. The food was AWESOME. Clifford again doing his wonderful spit roast ably assisted by Greg, Jean, Wendy, Lesley and others. Lots of vegies (6 trays of roasteds), greens and salads to accompany the meat. About 6 tents were outside for those hardy souls. As for the trophy........... I wish you had never asked because yours truly dropped the LT in the driveway before we had even set off!! ๐ณ Only a few minor scratches, but oh the shame. It took myself, my wife and the lady across the road to lift the machine upright again. Anyway enough of that and back to the important stuff:- The rally consisted of lots of talk and stories all surrounding bikes and rides, some drinking, but most of all comraderie. Some were early risers to get back to Cambridge for the Toy run, others left a bit later to find their way to the Boatshed, Karapiro for lunch (some getting there by a very unplanned circuitous route), one to go south for his mother's 86th birthday and others just to wend their way home by various roads. A weekend enjoyed by all.in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5022

Pokaka Supply Store and owners house. You can just make out the lettering on the signage. Note the window height on the store - this was so the horse and cart could pull up along side the building and load/unload supplies.in reply to: Westpac Rescue Helicopter Charity Ride #5740[img]

in reply to: Ingel and Lesley. R1200 cl #5422My wife and I are keen on camping and would like to take a bit more gear with us and we plan on doing a 2-3 month tour in 12-18 months. Ive read a lot of trailer reports and the uni-go seems to be top of the list. ๐
in reply to: Helmet Intercom #4998Thanks for the replies. On Friday I was in Rotorua where amalgamate2000 is based. I purchased a full face headset, an open face head set and the intercom unit for $119.00 Today my wife and I rode from Auckland to Te Awamutu and back again during which we used the intercom. What can I say? – It worked well. To start with there was a lot of wind noise comming from the open face headset but with a little playing around the noise was reduced. Still need to “play” with it some more to be 100% happy but for the dollars paid, I’m not complaining. Amalgamate2000 is currently looking at bringing in an intercom unit that also supports cell phones, radio and mpeg players. ๐
